From the crane, to the dragon phoenix, to the Meilan bamboo chrysanthemum; from the Chinese red, to the dragon robe yellow; from the qipao, to the Zhongshan suit... Every year, in the runway, you can always find the "taste of China".
The brand series to be introduced today, from the Chinese designer - Guo Pei, the 2020 spring couture collection, with the theme of "Himalaya", interprets the holiness and purity of heaven and earth.

Generally speaking, the snow background is rarely seen in the spring and summer shows, but this time, Guo Pei does not intend to ignore these "conventions", the entire show adopts a Himalayan snow pattern, and the models come in beautiful costumes, like the saints who came out of the holy mountain, looking a little cold, some magical, and some shocking.
Guo Pei said, "The Himalayas are a sacred place, a dwelling place of the gods, a temple of the soul, where the soul will spread its wings and fly high and reach the divine realm. When I was young, in my heart, haute couture was like the Himalayas, the pinnacle of the pyramid. ”
This time, Guo Pei depicted the Himalayas in her heart, and it seemed to have crossed the Himalayas.
Most people in the world only see the birds and flowers in spring, but forget that the four seasons are reincarnated, and the Spring Festival is originally the recovery of all things that follow the winter.
"The Himalayas have been there from the very beginning," Guo Pei said thoughtfully of the design this time, "I wanted to give people a sense of eternity with textiles as old as possible."
The pattern design of this series is inspired by Buddhist thangkas.
Guo Pei embroidered traditional Buddhist thangkas on fabric, and "The Great Buddha of the Three Realms" and "The Mystery of the Circle of Life" were gorgeously presented on thick brocade with three-dimensional gold thread patterns. This rich fabric was cut into long sleeved capes, which were dragged to the floor, or cut into royal handmades woven entirely of white tulle, which were carefully bent into a rose-like shape, like soft snow-white fur. In the designer's view, it's a symbol of purity: "They're snow goddesses."
In terms of silhouettes, inspired by Tibetan costumes, simple silhouettes gradually evolved into more elaborate ideas, leaving her obsessed with visual indulgence.
The grandeur and splendor of the finale is like a work of art: a golden thangka embroidered with gold wire, pearls and precious stones.
Up and down 5,000 years, there are folk art, there is royal art, there is religious culture, there is also humanistic classics.
The profundity of a nation can never be described by only one side, but just seeing one side of it is enough to make people stunned to the point of suffocation.
