The theme exhibition is composed of 29 classic embroidery works created by Guo Pei, which are divided into three parts: "Golden Cast My Soul", "China and the World" and "Heirloom Treasures - Chinese Wedding Dress", and the classic embroidery works will be unveiled on the same stage with 20 pieces of Chinese art collected by the Asian Civilization Museum. Guo Pei, who designed a variety of Chinese wedding dresses that were exhibited for the first time, grew up in Beijing and has been fascinated by Chinese royal art and legend since childhood, said: "Traditional Chinese art and fashion have a fundamental influence on my creation. I am honoured to be able to host my first solo exhibition in Asia in collaboration with the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore. ”

In addition to the theme exhibition "Guo Pei: Chinese Art and Haute Couture Clothing", starting in November, the Asian Civilization Museum will also present a special exhibition of the collection of well-known Chinese art collector Dr. Chen Chuchu, including 80 to 100 pieces of Chinese paintings, ink treasures, ceramics and stationery supplies by ren Bonian, Xu Beihong, Qi Baishi and other masters.

Chen Weiren, director of the Asian Civilization Museum, said that it was because of the charm of traditional Chinese culture that he decided to hold the "Chinese style" event: "The influence of traditional Chinese culture has spread around the world, and Chinese culture can be seen everywhere in today's popular culture, fashion and daily life. The exhibition not only features chinese art from singapore's national collection, but also classic works by China's top museums and well-known haute couture designers, allowing visitors to the Asian Civilisations Museum to get a closer look at Chinese heritage and traditions and reflect on the glorious history of Chinese art. ”
