author:Wang Zeqiang

Chen Qian is the son of Chen Jiao, who has the legacy of his father and has been resourceful since childhood. Chen Jiao was a Shang Shu Ling, and Liu Ye, who was favored by Emperor Ming of Wei, sued Chen Jiao for dictatorship, and Chen Jiao, worried, went home and expressed his fear to his young son. Chen Qian analyzed: "Lord Mingsheng, you are a heavy minister, and now that you are not in line with his wishes for a while, there will be no major incidents, and at most you will not be an official." Emperor Ming really did not listen to Liu Ye's words, and Chen Jiao worked until his death. Once, Xiahou Xuan insulted Chen Qian, he looked at himself calmly and inappropriately, and Xiahou Xuan later respected him very much.

Chen Qian initially served as Shang Shulang, later promoted to Zhongshan and An Pingdi Taishou (太守), with outstanding political achievements, and was promoted to Sima of the State of Xiang, Changshi, Zhongcheng of the Imperial Officials, and Shangshu of Shangshu, and was given the title of Marquis of Anguoting. At that time, the State of Shu attacked Longyou, and Chen Qian appointed Shangshu zhijie as the general of Zheng shu, leading the army to conquest and greatly destroying the Shu army. During Zhuge Shi's rebellion, he appointed Shangshu as the general of Andong and pacified Shouchun. He was the envoy to oversee the military forces of Northern Huaibei and became the Marquis of Guangling. He was transferred to the capital Jingzhou Military Commandery, the Grand General of Zhengnan, and the Marquis of Tan. Emperor Wu of Jin replaced Cao Wei, and Chen Qian served as a cheqi general with distinguished merits, made gaoping the duke of Gaoping Commandery, moved to serve zhongzhong and a great general, and became the military governor of Yangzhou, faked Huang Yu, attacked and uprooted the city of Wu Yuli, broke the tuzhong, and established an immortal meritorious service. His nephew Chen Yu followed him in his southern expedition to the northern war, and also made great military achievements, and was awarded the title of Marquis of Guanzhong.

In the early years of Xianning, Chen Qian was promoted to taiwei and transferred to sima (大司馬). Once, when Chen Qian entered the dynasty to discuss personnel issues with Emperor Wu of Jin, he said: "Hu Lie and Qiu Hong are both brave and unscrupulous people, so that they are self-righteous, not talents who can stabilize the border, let them guard the border passes, will bring shame to the country, may Your Majesty consider it thoughtfully." At that time, Emperor Wu of Jin thought that the relationship between the two was not good, so he did not listen to Chen Qian's advice, or appointed him as the Assassin of Liangzhou. Chen Qian shook his head and sighed privately, thinking that he was bound to lose. These two people really failed to establish a good relationship with QiangRong later, and were defeated by Qiangrong and lost a lot of land, and Emperor Wu of Jin regretted it so far.

Chen Qian is a measured person, with dirt and flaws, outstanding political achievements, and an extremely popular subject. In the third year of Xianning, he entered the dynasty and asked for retirement, but Emperor Wu disagreed, gave him the clothes of the Crown, and also issued an edict saying: "Qian Yuanxun's old virtue, the unification of Eastern Xia, Fang Hong's long-term achievements, with one Wu Hui, and the suffering has not been removed, every expression of earnestness, heavy labor to Fang." Now to listen to the capital city, in the past, the Taiwei Mansion was the Great Sima Mansion, and two people were added to the sacrificial wine, and the Sima under the tent, the official riding, the big chariot, and the trumpet were all the same as before, and the relatives and soldiers were 100 people, the kitchen field was ten acres, the kitchen garden was fifty acres, the kitchen soldiers were ten people, and the utensils were left to Yan. He also gave public opinion and encouragement in and out of the temple, such as the story of Han Xiao he. After several requests, Emperor Wu of Jin promised him to retire, still giving him generous material treatment and special courtesies. Chen Qian died in the second year of Yuan kang at the age of eighty-one. At the time of his death, Emperor Wu of Jin granted him permission to enter the imperial household with Hua Gong and gave him the title of Taifu (太傅), giving him the title of "Wu". At the time of the funeral, Emperor Wu of Jin personally went to the Great Sima Gate to send him off, looked at the coffin that was gradually going away, and kept wiping away tears.
