Impression of Jiangshan Town: The "Erya" of Laiyang County in the past, the "sub-center" of Laixi City now

author:Jiaodong Story Meeting

Jiangshan is a large town in the southeast of Laixi City. I've been there three times, once in 2017, once in 2019, and most recently last month.

Due to the construction of national highway 204, on the way to Jiangshan Town, the navigation also took us around. However, although the road is a little detoured, the scenery is also extra to see a lot. Unlike the visit to Jiangshan in 2019, this time we saw a lot of buildings that have begun to take shape south of the town station, and through the signs outside, we can know that they are probably a few schools with the word "Qing".

The location of these schools, roughly between the Jiangshan Town Station and Li Quanzhuang (originally the Township Station), just connects the two and forms the framework of a large town. Such a scene is very different from the author's previous impression of Jiang shan town, and there is a sense of "three days of Shibei should be treated with astonishment".

When passing through an intersection, the author saw such a billboard: "Develop a new highland, charm a new city." It turns out that the positioning of Jiangshan Town in the future is no longer "town", but "city".

After returning to inquire about the information, Fang knew that in the past few years, there have been many reports in the media linking Jiangshan Town with the concept of "sub-center". Closer up, it is the sub-center of Laixi City, while in the distance, there is also the reference to "one of the sub-centers" of Qingdao.

The words "vice" and "sub" are used in Jiangshan Town, and they can't help but remind people of the history of laiyang County's "erya" here in the Qing Dynasty. When I first came to Jiangshan in 2017, my main purpose was to visit this.

In the chronicle of the Republic of China edition of the Laiyang County Chronicle, such a record can be found: "In the thirty-second year of the Qianlong Dynasty, the county was moved to Jiangshan Town. ”

The county is equivalent to the deputy of Zhi County, and is the official of the county, usually only established in large counties. Laiyang County was initially stationed in the same city as Zhi County, but because Laiyang County was under the jurisdiction of Laiyang County at that time, in order to facilitate management, it was divided into Shaanxi and ruled, and the county was moved to Jiangshan to manage the surrounding money and grain. For this county office that was moved to the outside of the city, the people generally called it "Erya".

So, among the many jurisdictions in Laiyang County in the past, why was Jiangshan Town selected as the "Second Ya"?

In ancient times, the place where the great could be chosen as the seat of the gate was either a place where traffic was rushed or a place where the population spoke. In both aspects, the advantages of Jiangshan Town are also obvious.

Nowadays, the 204 National Highway is in the section between Laiyang, Laixi and Jimo, and the direction is roughly the same as the official road between Laiyang County and Jimo County in the Qing Dynasty, and Jiangshan Town is located on the Kongdao at the junction of the two counties.

In addition, there are no mountains around Jiangshan Town, and the number of villages is large and the population density is large. The "Second Ya" is located here, and the radiation range is also wider.

It is worth mentioning that the positioning of the "Second Ya" is the auxiliary of the "Great Ya" (main hall), and an appropriate distance should be maintained between the two to avoid overlapping powers. And Jiang Shan, which is far away from Laiyang County, is also in line with this.

It is probably because of the above factors that Jiang Shan stood out from the many villages and towns in Laiyang County in the Qing Dynasty and became the station of "Erya".

From ancient times to the present, although science and technology have been updated several times, the general idea of regional governance has obvious context. The advantages of Jiangshan becoming the "second ya" of Laiyang County in the Qing Dynasty actually exist to a certain extent today, but after Laixi established a separate county, the opposite urban area changed from a city box to a water collection.

Of course, compared with the ancient "second center", today's "sub-center" also has a significant difference, that is, the radiation effect from the outside.

In the Qing Dynasty, Jiang Shan set up the "Erya", which was only Laiyang County's own "household chores". Today, Jiangshan has become a "sub-center", but it is not a matter for Laixi City itself, but a reflection of the overall planning and radiation of Qingdao. Jiang Shan and Jimo's Huashan lips and teeth are dependent, in the context of Jimo District, Huashan has become a blue valley, Qingdao's influence across the Lai-ie border to the north of Jiangshan Town, it is also reasonable.

The former "Erya" of Laiyang County, the "sub-center" of Laixi City that is developing, what will be the future Jiangshan Town? Exciting. (Author: Ear Left Moon)
