The 7th Nishan Forum on World Civilization
It opened today (September 27) in Qufu
Hao Mingjin, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, delivered a speech and announced the opening; Liu Yandong, former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, former vice premier of the State Council, and president of the International Confucian Federation, delivered a speech; and Xu Jialu, honorary chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Nishan Forum on World Civilization and former vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, sent a congratulatory letter. Jiang Jianguo, deputy director of the Central Propaganda Department, Pan Yue, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Ye Xiaowen, deputy director of the Culture, Literature, History and Study Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, Tian Xuejun, vice minister of education, Zhang Xu, vice minister of culture and tourism, Gao Peiyong, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and secretary of the party committee of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Li Xikui, vice president of the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Huang Luqi, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered speeches or attended high-end interviews.
Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand, Honorary Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, former Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda of Japan, and former President Arroyo of the Philippines delivered speeches via video. Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sent a congratulatory letter.
Liu Jiayi, secretary of the provincial party committee, delivered a speech, and Li Ganjie, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee and governor of the province, attended the meeting. Bai Yugang, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial CPC Committee and director of the Propaganda Department, presided over the opening ceremony Leaders of Jining and Qufu cities at the two levels, including Lin Hongyu, Yu Yongsheng, Zhang Jimin, Zhang Hongqi, and Liu Dongbo, attended the opening ceremony.
The theme of this year's Nishan Forum on World Civilization is: Dialogue among Civilizations and Global Cooperation. The event adopted a combination of online and offline methods, and held 30 dialogue and exchange activities such as opening and closing ceremonies, keynote speeches, high-end dialogues, high-end interviews, interviews with envoys in China, group dialogues, youth forums, youth interviews, etc., and held the award ceremony of the UNESCO Confucius Education Award, the Confucius Culture Week for Young Chinese and Foreign Students, and the First Chinese Medicine Forum.
172 experts and scholars from 16 countries and regions participated in online and offline ways. 38 envoys from 20 countries in China, heads of UNESCO representative offices in China, experts and scholars at home and abroad, and members of the academic committees of the Forum attended the opening ceremony.
