In the 2006 Kentucky Draft, the Phoenix Suns selected Rondo with the 21st pick. On draft night, the team traded the Louisvillers to the Boston Celtics.

During the Celtics' rookie season, Rajon Rondo averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 assists per game in 23.5 minutes per game, earning $1,143,600. The energetic guard made $1229280 in Year 2 and improved his stats to 10.6 points and 5.1 assists. Rondo helped the Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 Finals.

In his third year in Boston, Rondo made $1315080 and is now one of the NBA's best point guards. He scored 11.9 points and 8.2 assists in 2008–09 before signing a five-year, $55 million rookie contract before the start of the 2009–10 season.

Rondo averaged 13.7 points and 9.8 corners per game in the 2009-10 season and earned $2,094,922. The Celtics returned to the Finals but lost to the Lakers.

Rajon Rondo began a rookie-level expansion in the 2010–11 season. He contributed $9090911 to the Celtics, averaging 10.6 points and 11.2 assists per game. In 68 games against the Celtics and Mavericks, he earned an annual salary of $12909090 with an average of 8.9 points and 7.9 assists per game.

In the summer of 2015, Rajon Rondo signed a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Sacramento Kings. In 2015-16, he averaged 11.9 points and 11.7 assists per game, and also led the NBA in assists.

After a year of playing for the Kings, Rondo signed a two-year, $27.4 million contract with the Chicago Bulls in the 2016 offseason to play with Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade. Rondo contributed $14 million to the Bulls, averaging 7.8 points and 6.7 assists per game. A year later, however, Chicago abandoned him.

In the summer of 2017, Rajan Rondo took action again. He signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Pelicans worth $3.3 million. The former champion made $3.3 million with the Pelicans and helped the team sweep the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2018 playoffs.

After years of battling LeBron James, Lajan Rondo signed a one-year, $9 million contract with the Lakers in the summer of 2018, and now he's a teammate of LeBron James. Rondo averaged 9.2 points and 8.0 assists per game in the 2018-19 season and earned $9 million.

Rondo renewed a two-year, $5.18 million contract with the Lakers in the 2019 offseason. In the 2019-2020 season, his earnings will reach $2564753.

In the future 2020-21 season, if Rondo gets his player selection at the Lakers, he will get $2619,605. He averaged 10.2 points and 8.3 assists per game in his career and was named an All-Star four times.
