In the 2006 Kentucky Draft, the Phoenix Suns selected Rondo with the 21st pick. On draft night, the team traded the Louisvillers to the Boston Celtics.

During the Celtics' rookie season, Rajon Rondo averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 assists per game in 23.5 minutes per game, earning $1,143,600. Rondo renewed a two-year, $5.18 million contract with the Lakers in the 2019 offseason. In the 2019-2020 season, his earnings will reach $2564753.

In the future 2020-21 season, if Rondo gets his player selection at the Lakers, he will get $2619,605. He averaged 10.2 points and 8.3 assists per game in his career and was named an All-Star four times.
