According to foreign media reports, the original manuscript of the first cover art of the Belgian comic strip "The Adventures of Tintin" was auctioned in Dallas for $1.12 million (about 7.75 million yuan) on June 8.

In this work by cartoonist Hergé, the "young journalist" Tintin sits on a tree stump and carves a makeshift propeller for his plane, which was damaged when the plane landed violently; Tintin's loyal companion, Bai Xue, is bandaged and crouched to watch.

In 1929, Hergé serialized Tintin's story in the Belgian children's supplement of the Belgian newspaper 20th Century, Little 20th Century. The comics were well received by readers, and Little 20th Century soon doubled the number of pages in each issue from 8 to 16 pages. On February 13, 1930, Tintin appeared on the cover of the supplement for the first time. Just a few months later, the "The Adventures of Tintin" series of comic books was officially published, and has sold more than 200 million copies worldwide so far. The Adventures of Tintin comic book has been translated into over 70 languages.

In order to make Tintin a living hero, Hergé painstakingly wrote a series of heroic deeds for the protagonist, including criminal cases, political scandals, and even science fiction content. In addition to the faithful puppy Snow, Tintin's adventures include Captain Adok, the gifted professor Sunflower, and the always helpful detective partners Dupont and Dupont.

The cover painting, which was photographed on June 8, was reportedly painted in ink and watercolor and had Hergé's signature. A spokesman for the traditional auction company said the painting appeared in Brussels not only as "a cover painting from one of the few private collections with Hergé's signature", but also one of the earliest. The cover art of the older version of The Adventures of Tintin is currently mostly on display at the Hergé Museum in Neu-Leuven, Belgium. Other paintings related to The Adventures of Tintin have also fetched high prices at auction in the past.

According to German media reports, Hergé died in 1983, and the last episode of The Adventures of Tintin was published in 1986 after Hergé's death. Before his death, he expressed that he did not want other artists to continue to work on tintin and snow comics, and to end "The Adventures of Tintin". But in 2011, the 3D cartoon The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn gave Tintin and Snow a new lease of life. It is reported that New Zealand director Jackson is filming a sequel to the film. From this point of view, the story of Tintin and Snow White is far from over.
