Chang Hong and Ma Jing, who graduated from Jilin Normal University, could have chosen to go to a big city to develop, but the two of them took root in the rural school in Yanshan County, Hebei Province, bent on passing on what they had learned to rural children, and adhered to the post of special teacher and enjoyed the happiness of being gardeners. They gave a heart of blood to the Xinxin students in Yanshan, but they faced their families with full of guilt, and used their youth and sweat to compose the most beautiful poems of the rural special teachers.
Chang Hong, a young man from Henan, and Ma Jing, a girl from Jilin Province, are bent on dedicating what they have learned to rural schools. After graduating from university, the two successively became special teachers of Qiantong Middle School in Yanshan County, our province. This pair of "winged birds" who "flew in" thousands of miles away cared for the Yanshan students with their hearts and threw themselves into the cause of grass-roots education.

Determined to devote himself to rural education
In 2005, Chang Hong, a 19-year-old boy from Lingbao City, Henan Province, was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Jilin Normal University and became a classmate of Ma Jing in Yushu City, Jilin Province.
Because he is a college student who came out of the countryside, Chang Hong is well aware of the weakness and lack of rural education, and he has the idea of taking root in rural schools after completing his studies. Chang Hong's simplicity and responsibility touched Ma Jing, and unconsciously, the two sparked a spark of love. Under the influence and drive of Chang Hong, Ma Jing also had the idea of devoting herself to rural education.
In 2009, Chang Hong Ma jing graduated from university, saw the news of Hebei recruiting special teachers on the Internet, and immediately applied for the examination. When filling in the volunteer form, Chang Hong filled in The Yanshan County of Cangzhou City, a young man who grew up in the mountains, mistakenly thought that Yanshan was a mountainous area. Ma Jing, who was afraid of walking the mountain road, signed up for Chengde. As a result, one of the two men went to the plains and the other into the mountains.
Chang Hong, who walked out of the university door, bumped all the way, and after a day and a night of boat and car labor, came to Yanshan County Qiantong Middle School and became the youngest "post-80s" special teacher there.
Qiantong Middle School is more than 30 kilometers away from the county seat of Yanshan, which is the southernmost point of Yanshan, across the river from Shandong Province. Most of the local teachers have settled in the county seat, and due to the remote location of the school, every year someone tries to transfer to a township or county school closer to the county seat. Chang Hong, a college student from other places, "did the opposite" and came to the most remote rural school in Yanshan from thousands of miles away.
As soon as Chang Hong arrived at school, he became a math teacher in the third grade. I am not familiar with the land, I don't understand the water and soil, I don't understand the yanshan dialect... Chang Hong strives to adapt to the new environment, and although he feels full during the day, he really misses home at night and on holidays.
Life in school is hard. Teachers have to press water from pressurized wells, and the water that comes out of the press must be filtered before they can drink; the dormitories are not heated in winter, and people lie in the beds and still shiver; there is no transportation for travel, and several teachers share an old bicycle. A plate of scrambled eggs with garlic and a few slices of sausage is a "grand meal". Life is bitter, homesick is bitter, and some special teachers can't stand it and leave. Chang Hong's parents also advised him to change jobs many times, but he never wavered.
The pain of lovesickness is even harder. The most romantic thing about Chang Hong and Ma Jing is that after busy work in the evening, they all bring meals to the computer and "have dinner together" through video. Across the computer screen, they encouraged each other and shared the pain and joy of the special teachers.
Than wing double fly home Salt Mountain
One day in 2012, Ma Jing sent a text message to Chang Hong: "I'm going to Yanshan and meet you in victory!" At the end of the three-year service period of the special gang teacher, Ma Jing applied for the special gang teacher in Yanshan and came to Qiantong Middle School as a Chinese teacher as desired. In 2013, Chang Hong and Ma Jing formed a happy little family with the blessings of teachers and students.
"The school specially vacated a dormitory for us as a wedding room, and enthusiastic colleagues also sent two futons. We were reunited in Salt Mountain and it was like coming home. Ma Jing said emotionally.
After marriage, although the life of the little two is bitter, there is no lack of sweetness. They never compare their material lives with others, and they devote themselves to teaching and devote themselves to teaching. In 2014, Chang Hong and Ma Jing had a lovely son. A family of three, happy and harmonious.
"We can't go back to our hometown often, and we feel that the most indebted is the parents of both sides." Chang Hongma Jing said that one of their parents is in Henan and the other is in Jilin, and the two can only return home twice a year. Every time I call, I am most afraid of hearing the news that my parents are sick, and the feeling of being in a hurry is particularly uncomfortable.
Chang Hong said that some of their former college classmates have become very rich in art training institutions, some have become painters and are very famous, and some have set up design studios in first-tier cities... Although he and Ma Jing cannot be compared with other classmates in material terms, the two enjoy the happiness of being gardeners.
After several years of hard work, Chang Hong Ma Jing and his wife have bought a house in Yanshan, and they look forward to taking over the parents of both sides as soon as possible and sharing the heavens together.
Temporary parents of left-behind children
In Yanshan County Qiantong Middle School, there are many students who are left-behind children and lack the love of their parents on weekdays.
Three years ago, a student named Wang Yong broke his arm while riding a bicycle and refused to say. Wang Yong's table mate quietly told Chang Hong about this. Chang Hong didn't say a word, and quickly pedaled his bicycle to take Wang Yong to the health room to treat the wound. "The day Teacher Chang took me to the doctor, I felt like my father was around." Wang Yong later wrote in an essay.
The parents of the student soldier (pseudonym) divorced, developed a sense of disgust with school, and smoked and fought. What to do? Chang Hong let the soldiers serve as the life committee members in the squad, and also worked overtime to help the soldiers in their homework. Ma Jing made a good meal and invited the soldiers to eat, and also talked with the soldiers. Under the influence of Chang Hong and Ma Jing, the soldiers who originally loved to skip school began to study steadily, and also took the initiative to participate in various activities of the school. Other teachers at the school said that the soldier statue had changed into a person.
In their spare time, Chang Hong and Ma Jing often talk to students about university life, take students to see photos to "enjoy" Tsinghua, Peking University and other universities and places of interest, and encourage students to broaden their horizons and pursue their dreams of colleges and universities. In this way, over the years, successive generations of students have established a deep relationship with them.
From 2009 to 2018, Chang Hong, as a special teacher, has been rooted in remote rural schools for 10 years, and because of his outstanding work achievements, he was transferred to the Yanshan County Education Bureau at the beginning of this year, and is now an art teacher and researcher in the county. Ma Jing continues to stick to the front line of education, and is currently a backbone teacher of the school and the leader of the scientific research team.
Couple elected "The Most Beautiful Teacher in Yanshan"
When he learned that he and his lover Ma Jing were nominated as candidates for the 2018 "Moving Hebei" Person of the Year, Teacher Chang Hong humbly said that he had not done enough. The reporter also learned from the Yanshan County Education Bureau that in September this year, at the 2018 Teachers' Day Awards Ceremony in Yanshan County, Chang Hong Majing, a special teacher husband and wife, was awarded the honorary title of "the second most beautiful teacher in Yanshan County".
Colleagues recognized that the students loved it, which gave Chang Hong Ma Jing unlimited motivation for work. But when it comes to their families, they are still full of guilt. In June this year, Chang Hong's father was urgently hospitalized for cerebral hemorrhage. He hurried back to his hometown and took care of him in the hospital for 7 days. However, due to the inability to work, when his father's condition improved, he immediately embarked on the return train. "I am my father's only son, but I can't stay by my side to do filial piety, so I usually have to entrust my sister and sister to take more care of the elderly." Chang Hong said.
At the end of August this year, in order to cooperate with the Yanshan County Education Bureau to shoot a documentary, Changhong Majing took his children back to Jilin and visited Ma Jing's parents. And the last time they went back, it was more than a year ago.
"The family was happy when we met, but we all cried when we left." Chang Hong said that after a day of staying together, the family hurriedly said goodbye. Ma Jing is the only daughter in the family, and she has more concerns and reluctance for her parents. Thinking of her parents looking at them uncomfortably, Ma Jing's tears flowed all the way...
