This product is Ranunculus ternatus Thunb. Of dried tuber roots.
It is distributed in Guangxi, Taiwan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Hubei, Henan and other provinces of China. It is also found in Japan. It grows in plain wet meadows or fieldside wastelands.
Neutral plants, like light, also tolerant of shade, like warm and humid climate, grow in hills, dry slopes, fields, roadsides, wasteland shade and wet places, strong adaptability. The soil requirements are not strict, and it is suitable for growth in loose, humid and fertile humus loam soil cultivation, which is more resistant to water and moisture.
In the spring and autumn, digging is carried out, the roots and sediment are removed, and the sun is dried.
This product is spindle-shaped, more than 5 to 6 clusters, shaped like a cat's claw, 3 to 10 mm long, 2 to 3 mm in diameter, and yellow-brown stump or stem marks at the tip. The surface is yellowish brown or grayish yellow, the color is darker for a long time, there are slight longitudinal wrinkles, and there are some whisker root marks and residual whisker roots. Solid, cross-sectional white or yellowish white, hollow or solid, powdery. The gas is slight, the taste is slightly sweet.

For internal use: decoction, 9-15 g. External use: appropriate amount, grinding powder.
