The soil ball is large, and the problem is poor air permeability at the bottom of the root system after planting, and poor air permeability will delay the healing of root wounds and the germination of new roots, and even cause root death. Coupled with the need to water after planting, watering will further drain the air in the soil, making the root hypoxia problem more serious.
In addition, the trees shown in the picture are planted on the sidewalk, surrounded by hard paving, and the soil at the bottom must be compacted and airtight.
Similar to the planting hole shown in the figure, in addition to the poor air permeability, the bottom drainage or water permeability is also poor, which will cause the water to either not drain away or water into it.
To solve this problem, the plastic pipe wall is spirally punched at a distance of about 10cm. Buried at the edge of the tree's earthball, it can be used as a passage for air, directing fresh air directly to the bottom of the tree roots. It is also possible to drain water at the bottom of the root system when it is waterlogged, and directly from the mouth when the root system is dry.
