Crane orchid, also known as bird of paradise or bird of paradise flower, is a plant of the family Plantainaceae and the genus Hewang orchid

Strelitzia reginae, also known as bird of paradise or bird of paradise flower[1], is a monocotyledon native to South Africa.

The leaves are oblong lanceolate, because the crane orchid has a peculiar shape, bright color, and can be watered for as many as 20 days in summer, while the winter can be as long as 50 days, and is known as the "king of fresh cut flowers".

Prefers warm and humid climates, afraid of frost and snow. Light-loving plants, which need plenty of sunlight in winter and shade in strong light in summer. The soil needs to be loose, fertile and well drained. The winter overwintering temperature is 5 °C. Seeding and propagation are commonly used. Seedlings bloom after 4 to 5 years of cultivation.

The leaves are beautiful and the flowers are peculiarly shaped. Potted crane wanglan is suitable for the layout of conference rooms and hall environments, with a fresh and elegant feeling. The southern ground is planted in the courtyard, which adds to the natural scenery.

Perennial herb with no stem. The leaves are oblong lanceolate, 25–45 cm long and about 10 cm wide, sharply pointed at the apex, rounded or wedge-shaped at the base, wavy at the lower margins; the petioles are slender.

Several flowers grow on a total peduncle about the same length or slightly short as the petiole, with a Buddha flame bud underneath; the Buddha flame bud is boat-shaped, up to 20 cm long, green, edged purple red, sepal lanceolate, 7.5–10 cm long, orange-yellow, arrow-like petals with ear-like lobes at the base, and sepals nearly equal in length, dark blue; stamens are equal in length to the petals; the anthers are narrowly linear, the flower pillars are prominent, and the stigma 3.
