According to the owner of Guangzhou Yuexiu Xinghui Cloud City, at about 18:00 on November 6, two children played on a small platform next to the children's play area in front of the 2 buildings, and the cement board of the platform suddenly broke, and a 7-year-old boy fell into the well. Another child immediately asked the doorman for help, and then the staff of the relevant department arrived at the scene for rescue. Unfortunately, the boy was not rescued in the end.
Afterwards, some owners provided pictures of the accident scene: the well is rectangular in design, and there is only one layer of cement plate overhead above the wellhead, and the thickness of this layer of cement board is about 5cm, and it is suspected that the inner layer of deformed steel bars and foam can be seen from the broken cement board.
In this regard, many owners have questioned that the community fire manhole cover will generally set up multiple protective measures at the beginning of construction, including using cast iron covers instead of cement plates, or adding load-bearing steel plates, steel bars, anti-fall nets, peripheral guardrail nets and so on.
On November 8, Yuexiu Property Guangzhou Company issued a notice saying: At about 6:36 p.m. on November 6, two children jumped and played in the fire water manhole cover, the manhole cover broke and caused a child to fall into the well, about an hour and a half later the child was rescued, confirmed that there were no vital signs. After the incident, the company involved set up a joint working group to conduct self-examination, which will deal with the relevant responsible units and personnel, and deal with the aftermath and other matters.
