The late British singer Amy Winehouse sold a large number of personal belongings at the California auction, and yesterday and today made a total of $4 million in two days, which is twice the amount originally expected.

Before the auction began, Martin Nolan of Julien's Auctions said: "Of course there are fans, museums and collectors from all over the world who want to own some of these objects, take care of them, put them on display in museums, keep her deeds and memories alive, and raise some money for the foundation."

Amy Huaisi took to the stage of a concert in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2011 in a tight-fitting wrap-around dress with a green bamboo pattern on a black background, and a month later she died of acute alcoholism at the age of 27.

Amy's double intimacy and Janis auctioned off 800 of Amy's personal belongings, including bras, DVDs, books and cosmetics, and amy's dress at her last concert in 2011 was a highlight of the auction, dropping the hammer today for $243,200 (about NT$6.84 million).

Another highlight of the auction was the Italian boutique Moschino handbag that Amy Wise used at the 2007 Brit Awards, which sold for $204,800 (about NT$5.76 million).

Most of the other costumes Amy-Wise wore during the show cost between $12,500 and $150,000.

Julian Auctions has compiled more than 400 pages of auction catalogues to give you a glimpse into the singer's influence and singing career, as well as the unique retro style that has made her a fashion icon.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Amy Wise Foundation, which specializes in helping vulnerable youth fight addiction.
