Wang Ji was a poet of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and only two of his poems have survived, one is "Song Xing", and the other is "Into Ruoye Creek", which we will introduce below. Wang Yuan is also famous for this poem "Into Ruoye Creek" for thousands of years, especially in which "the cicada noise forest is quiet, the birds singing mountain is more quiet" is the most respected and imitated by later generations of poets.

Ruoye Creek: The name of the river, located in Shaoxing City, where legend has it that Xi Shi once had Huansha.
Stern: The name of the ship, which here refers to the large ship.
Yinxia: The ancients took the north of the mountain as yin, which refers to the smoke on the north side of the mountain.
Yangjing: Jingtong "shadow", refers to the shadow of the sun in the water.

【Translation】
Take a boat trip to Ruoye Creek, the river is not in a hurry,
The blue sky and white clouds reflect the blue water, and the water and sky are boundless.
The distant peaks loomed, and the smoke in the north of the mountains rose,
The sun reflects on the waves, and the golden light chases the water.
Knowing that the cries did not stop, but felt that the forest was more silent,
Birds and finches fight with each other, and it can be seen that there are few people in the mountains.
Come here today in a quiet place, touching the heart of the hidden meaning,
Many years tired of being in the career, and now the sorrow comes from the heart.

The poem was composed after wang yuan saw the beautiful scenery and quiet mountains and forests when he was traveling on the Ruoye Creek by boat, which touched the heart of retreat.
The first two sentences write that the poet rides a large boat like a "sternwheeler" up the Ruoye Stream, "He Panpan" describes the boat slowly sailing on the river, and "leisurely together" describes the water and sky, which also shows the poet's leisurely mood at this time.
Three or four sentences write about the scenery after looking at it from a distance and up close. In the distance, the mountains loomed and smoke rose. Up close, the sun reflects on the water, and the golden light shines as the waves rise and fall. One far and one near, the mountains and rivers reflect each other, complement each other. The "birth" and "chase" here add a color of life to the "yin xia" and "yang jing".
Five or six sentences are written quietly in noise. "Cicada noise bird song" is noise, "forest mountain" is static, noise is quiet, more can set off the quiet. The two sentences "The cicadas are noisy and the forest is quiet, and the birds are singing and the mountains are more quiet" are the essence of this poem, and the Book of Liang calls it "unique outside the text". Later poems such as Wang Wei, Du Fu, and Wang Anshi have all imitated this technique.
The last two sentences are written by the poet by the scene touched. Such a quiet and beautiful place, how nice it would be if you could live in seclusion here! Thinking about my eunuch life for so many years, I can't help but feel sad. The word "tired" reflects the poet's boredom with the officialdom, and sets off the eagerness of "returning".
The language of this poem of Wang Yuan is natural and the sound is harmonious, as if it depicts a beautiful landscape painting for us. Influenced by this poem, many famous artists in later generations have written poems about You Ruoye Creek.
