As is customary, Diageo will also launch a new version of the SR in 2021. On May 24, 2021, 8 sets of new SR series wine labels appeared on the Internet, according to these labels, they correspond to the SR series 2021 annual wine. These wines are all old barrel strong wine, the capacity is all 700ml (the US version is 750ml), the following is a brief introduction to the 8 sets of wine labels corresponding to the wine.
1. Cardhu 14 years
In the history of the SR series, there have been 4 Cardhu models before, all of which are barrel-strong. Finished in wine Casks, this wine has an alcohol content of 55.5% ABV, is 14 years old, and is the second 14-year-old Cadu in the SR series.
2. Lagavulin 12 years
In the history of the SR series, there have been 25 Lagavulin models, including 20 12-year-old wines and 5 other vintages, all of which are barrel-strong. Matured in Refill Casks, it has an alcohol content of 56.5% ABV and a 12-year age, making it the 21st 12-year-old Legavirin in the SR series.
26 years of Lagavulin
Aged in First Fill Pedro Ximenez/Oloroso Seasoned Casks, this wine has an alcohol content of 44.2% ABV, a 26-year age and a bottling capacity of 7,542 bottles, making it the 27th Legavirin in the SR series and the oldest in SR 2021. It is worth noting that in the history of the SR series, there has never been a 26-year-old Legavirin wine, so this is the first Legavirin wine in the SR series with a age of 26 years.
Mortlach 13 years
In the history of the SR series, only three Mouch models have appeared in 2004, 2019 and 2020, all of which are barrel strong wines. Matured in Refill and Virgin Oak Casks, it has an alcohol content of 55.9% ABV and is 13 years old. It is worth noting that in the history of the SR series, there has never been a 13-year-old Moher wine, so this is the first Mouher wine in the SR series with a 13-year age.
V. Oban 12 years
In the history of the SR series, there have been 4 Oban models before, all of which are barrel strong wines. The wine is aged in EX-Bourbon and Refill Casks, has an alcohol content of 56.2% ABV and is 12 years old. It is worth noting that in the history of the SR series, there has never been a 12-year-old Auburn wine, so this is the first Auburn wine in the SR series with a 12-year age.
Royal Lochnagar 16 years
In the history of the SR series, there has only been 1 non-barrel-strong, ageless Royal Lochnagar wine. The wine is matured in Refill Casks, has an alcohol content of 57.5% ABV and is 16 years old. It is worth noting that in the history of the SR series, there has never been a Royal Blue Wine with a age of 16 years, so this is the first Royal Blue Medal wine in the SR series with an age of 16 years, and it is also the first Royal Blue Wine with a wine age in the SR series.
7. Talisker 8 years
In the history of the SR series, there have been 20 Talisker models before, all of which are barrel-strong. This wine is a blend of the most smoky original Teesca, with an alcohol content of 59.7% ABV and an age of 8 years, which is the third 8-year-old Tesca in the history of the SR series, as in SR 2018 and 2020.
八、The Singleton of Glendullan 19年
In the history of the SR series, there have been five Previous Singleton wines, all of which are barrel-strong, but only SR 2014's Sugden 38 years, from the Glendullan winery. Finished in Cognac-Seasoned Casks (aged before barreling is unknown), with an alcohol content of 54.6% ABV and a 19-year age, it is the second Sugden wine from the Grand Durran distillery in the SR series and the first in the SR series to be 19 years old.
Although all SR 2021 models have beautiful illustrations on all SR collections like the 2019 and 2020 vintages, it is not known who made the illustrations. These illustrations depict the relationship between the winery where the wine originates and the animals, plants, scenery, legends and cultures around them through the magic techniques of both true and illusory, or are intended to express the harmonious coexistence and mutual influence of wine and nature, wine and culture. At the same time, SR 2019 and 2020 both contain 8 wines, and SR 2021 has also exposed 8 sets of wine labels. Therefore, if the number of SR wines this year and the previous two years is the same, it is possible that all SR 2021 wine models have appeared at this time.
