Ben Mendelsson or Player One
It is reported that the Australian actor Ben Mendelson, who starred in the American drama "Kinship", may join Steven Spielberg's new film "Player One". Warner, as the producer, has not officially announced the news, but according to people familiar with the matter, Mendelson and Warner have entered the preliminary negotiation stage.
Based on Ernst Klein's novel of the same name, Player One tells the story of the super online game "Oasis" in which human beings indulge in virtual reality in a future world where population explosions and resources are depleted. But oasis founder Halliday died suddenly, and his will caused an uproar, declaring that if he could find the Easter eggs he set up in the oasis game, he could take over his company and become the world's richest man. The protagonist is an orphan named Wade Woz, who, like many others, is caught up in the easter egg hunt.

At present, the film has selected Olivia Cook as the heroine, playing the protagonist Wade Woz's object of affection and game competitor, and a Canadian blogger. Mendelson may play an executive of an Internet company designing an oasis, the details of which have not been announced. However, according to foreign media speculation, the villain in the novel, Nolan Sorrento, works for an illegal and innovative network company, and Mendelsson is likely to play the role of this villain.
Mendelson has appeared in Australian films before, and subsequently starred in films such as "Pharaoh and the Gods", "Western Slow Key", "Mississippi Game" and so on, but only opened up after starring in "Kinship". He will also star in the Star Wars spin-off film Star Wars: Rogue One, which will be released in North America on December 16 this year.
