On November 9, the project structure of the permanent site of the world's top scientist community in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone was completed, officially entering the first anniversary of the countdown to operation. The project will be put into use as the site of the Fifth World Top Scientists Forum, and integrate cultural and entertainment facilities such as conference and exhibition halls, digital libraries, hotel banquets, and commercial performances to create a modern and high-quality science and technology innovation center.
It is understood that the permanent site is positioned as "a world-class major frontier scientific source in the new era", which is an important supporting facility for the top scientist community, located in the central area of the International Innovation Collaboration Zone, with a planned land area of about 3.2 square kilometers and a planned total construction volume of about 3.03 million square meters. Construction began on March 28, 2021, and on September 15, 60,000 square meters of basement construction was completed, with the average upward rate of the building exceeding 1.5 meters per day.
According to the person in charge of the project, in order to further help top scientists gather in Shanghai, the landmark building also provides accurate life culture supporting services for top scientists and scientific and technological innovation talents. It is understood that the supporting hotel is mainly operated by Jin Jiang International Group, and will set up an AI interactive experience area in the hotel lobby to simulate the annual scientific achievements through the application of scientific imitation, naked-eye 3D, lighting effects and other ways, so that it is interesting and visualized, forming a unique connotation with a degree of differentiation.
Operated by Shanghai Xinhua Media Co., Ltd., Lingang Science Digital Library will integrate public gathering space, cultural experience space, tourism and leisure space, and commercial consumption space into a "library complex" with rich reading experience, complete scientific and technological information, and smooth international collaboration, and create the world's first digital immersive library.
Lingang Dingke Theater will become the first comprehensive theater with more than 800 seats in Lingang New Area, presenting high-end performing arts categories such as musicals, dance dramas, operas, dramas, symphonies, etc., and continuing to stage the world's top quality products and show local cultural strength. Operated by Shanghai Media Group, the theater will play a leading role in its 8 state-owned literary and art academies and troupes, and use the performing arts content as a window to create a new cultural landmark in Shanghai.
