陳持平的中國古詩詞字畫藝術
陳持平醫師以中國古詩詞為繪畫與書畫題材，結合圖畫與詩詞的聯想創作，不僅表現出東方與西方的繪畫結合，讓觀賞者了解繪畫與書畫不再是局限于傳統的架構，也不再是必須要用傳統的道具與媒材來進行創作。
陳持平祖籍福建仙遊，于1953年出生于台灣新竹。
陳持平祖父陳開泉老師為上海美專國畫組畢業的藝術家，系劉海粟的得意門生，陳持平父親陳祖儒老師是一位書法家。陳持平從小就喜歡看着父親用毛筆書寫隸書及楷書，感覺快樂無比。當時的陳祖儒希望陳持平能繼承自己父親陳開泉的藝術家道路，好好去當一位藝術家。但年輕的陳持平不從父願，卻走另一條相反的道路，研習醫學，濟世救人。多年後的現代，因緣際會下拿起畫筆，想起已故的父親的話語與父親親筆寫下的書法匾額，陳持平将西方的繪畫與中國的書法融合在一起，親身體驗并實作當年父親的願望與自己喜愛的父親書法。
陳持平是一位醫師藝術家。“藝術LY”是陳持平的藝術創作理念。陳持平認為繪畫創作和繪畫欣賞皆具有身心LY的作用。一則借着繪畫創作，徹底發洩個人的情感、欲望、痛苦與快樂。再者借着繪畫欣賞，把自己融入别人的情感及心境，互相感應一番。就是安定人心的力量！而陳持平繪畫書法藝術的特色則是弘掦中華文化。陳持平不遺餘力，以實際行動，古詩今畫，把中國家喻戶曉的古詩古詞，經過無限創意，蛻變成現代藝術作品，而且不斷推陳出新，變化多端，引入入境，陳持平借着其自成一格的藝術創作，努力弘揚偉大中華文化，潛移默化人心，雅俗共賞。
現在舉例元好問的「摸魚兒」，陳持平借着書法和繪圖，一氣呵成，和古人元好問先生，共同對中國人喜愛的愛情唯美詩詞：「摸魚兒，雁丘詞」，來一個今古對鳴的千古絕唱！
