（161）A Thief
One day a thief came into a small store and tried to steal a beautiful necklace ，but the owner caught him immediately and went to the telphone to call the police.
“Please don't do that!"the thief said. “I have a wife and three children at home. And I'll pay for the necklace.”
The owner felt sorry for the man and he didn' t want to have a lot of trouble with the police, so he accepted the man's offer to pay for the necklace and went to prepare a bill for it. But when he gave it to the thief, the man looked disturbed and said，“I wasn't intending to get anything as expensive as that. Do you have something cheaper?”

有一天，一個小偷走進一家小商店，想偷走一條漂亮的項鍊，但是商店主人卻馬上抓住了他并走向電話，想通知警察。
“求求你不要這樣做！”小偷說。“我家裡還有妻子和三個孩子。我将會付錢給你，買下這條項鍊。”
商店主人很同情這個人，而且他也不想和警察有過多的糾葛，是以他接受了這個小偷買下這個項鍊的條件，并準備去開帳單。但當他把帳單遞給小偷的時候，小偷看起來心慌意亂，說道：“我并沒有想買那麼貴重的東西。你有便宜一些的嗎？”
