（161）A Thief
One day a thief came into a small store and tried to steal a beautiful necklace ，but the owner caught him immediately and went to the telphone to call the police.
“Please don't do that!"the thief said. “I have a wife and three children at home. And I'll pay for the necklace.”
The owner felt sorry for the man and he didn' t want to have a lot of trouble with the police, so he accepted the man's offer to pay for the necklace and went to prepare a bill for it. But when he gave it to the thief, the man looked disturbed and said，“I wasn't intending to get anything as expensive as that. Do you have something cheaper?”

有一天，一个小偷走进一家小商店，想偷走一条漂亮的项链，但是商店主人却马上抓住了他并走向电话，想通知警察。
“求求你不要这样做！”小偷说。“我家里还有妻子和三个孩子。我将会付钱给你，买下这条项链。”
商店主人很同情这个人，而且他也不想和警察有过多的纠葛，因此他接受了这个小偷买下这个项链的条件，并准备去开帐单。但当他把帐单递给小偷的时候，小偷看起来心慌意乱，说道：“我并没有想买那么贵重的东西。你有便宜一些的吗？”
