　　2024年第11期发表了习近平总书记关于发展新质生产力的重要文章。

　　An article by General Secretary Xi Jinping on developing new quality productive forces was published in this year’s 11th issue of Qiushi Journal.

　　文章强调，新时代以来，党中央作出一系列重大决策部署，推动高质量发展成为全党全社会的共识和自觉行动，高质量发展成为主旋律。必须牢记高质量发展是新时代的硬道理，完整、准确、全面贯彻新发展理念，为推动高质量发展打牢基础。

　　The article emphasizes that since the beginning of the new era in 2012, the CPC Central Committee has made a series of major decisions and arrangements, turning high-quality development into a consensus and conscious choice for the entire Party as well as a key theme throughout society. It is essential to bear in mind that high-quality development is the paramount principle of the new era, and fully and faithfully implement the new development philosophy on all fronts, thereby laying a solid foundation for promoting high-quality development.

　　文章指出，发展新质生产力是推动高质量发展的内在要求和重要着力点。概括地说，新质生产力是创新起主导作用，摆脱传统经济增长方式、生产力发展路径，具有高科技、高效能、高质量特征，符合新发展理念的先进生产力质态。

　　According to the article, developing new quality productive forces is an endogenous requirement and a pivot of high-quality development. In summary, new quality productive forces represent a new type of advanced productivity that is compatible with the new development philosophy. Granting a leading role to innovation, they mark a break with traditional economic growth models and development pathways for productive forces and feature a high level of technology, efficiency, and quality.

　　它由技术革命性突破、生产要素创新性配置、产业深度转型升级而催生，以劳动者、劳动资料、劳动对象及其优化组合的跃升为基本内涵，以全要素生产率大幅提升为核心标志，特点是创新，关键在质优，本质是先进生产力。

　　They are born out of revolutionary breakthroughs in technology, the innovative allocation of production factors, and the in-depth transformation and upgrading of industry. They are primarily based on the transformation of laborers, the instruments of labor, and the subjects of labor, as well as their optimal combination. A central hallmark of these forces is a significant increase in total factor productivity, and their defining characteristic is innovation, with a key focus on quality. In essence, they represent advanced productivity.

　　新质生产力的显著特点是创新，必须继续做好创新这篇大文章，推动新质生产力加快发展。

　　Innovation is one of the most salient characteristics of new quality productive forces. We must keep prioritizing innovation to propel the accelerated development of new quality productive forces. Specifically, this involves several key strategies:

　　第一，大力推进科技创新。第二，以科技创新推动产业创新。第三，着力推进发展方式创新。第四，扎实推进体制机制创新。第五，深化人才工作机制创新。

　　First, vigorously promoting scientific and technological innovation; second, driving industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation; third, propelling innovation of development models; fourth, advancing innovations in institutions and mechanisms; fifth, deepening innovation in working mechanisms for talent.

　　本期《求是》杂志配发了学习习近平总书记重要文章的编辑部文章。

　　Huang Hanquan, President of the China Macroeconomic Research Institute, discusses the core tenets and practical requirements for developing new quality productive forces.

　　The article by Wang Guanghua, Minister and Secretary of the Leadership Group of the Ministry of Natural Resources, as well as National Chief Inspector of Natural Resources, elaborates on the rich connotations and experiences of Xiamen’s practice in implementing Xi Jinping thought on ecological conservation.

　　An article by a research team from the Publicity Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee summarizes the experiences of Guizhou Province in hosting Village Super League, also known as “Cun Chao,” and “Gorgeous Countryside” Basketball League, dubbed by Chinese netizens as “CunBA,” with “Cun” meaning village in Chinese.
