（180）The Hare and the
Tortoise
A hare one day laughed at the short feet and slow speed of the tortoise, who replied,laughing:“Though you are fast as the wind, I willbeat you in a race.”The hare believed her words to be simply impossible and accepted the challenge ;and they agreed that the fox should choose the course and fix the goal. On the day appointed for the race the two started together. The tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course. The hare, lying down by the way, fell fast asleep.At last he woke up, and moved as fast as he could, but he saw the tortoise had reached the goal, and was comfortably dozing after her fatigue .Slow but steady steps wins the race.
龟兔赛跑
一天，兔子笑话乌龟，说它腿短，走路慢。乌龟笑着说：“虽然你跑得象风一样快，比赛跑步的话我能打败你。”兔子认为乌龟说的话纯属无稽之谈，于是接受了这个挑战。他们同意让狐狸选好路程，确立目的地。在指定好的比赛日，他们两个一起出发了。乌龟一刻也不停步，迈着缓慢但却坚定不移
的步伐一直走到终点。而兔子却躺在路边，呼呼大睡，最后它终于醒了，拼命往前跑，它看见乌龟已经到了终点，正在舒舒服服地打着瞌睡歇气呢。
缓慢而坚定的步伐最终能够赢得比赛。
