（144）A Cowboy
A cowboy rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. Unfortunately，the locals always had a habit of picking on strangers, which he was. When he finished his drink, he found his horse had been stolen. He went back into the bar, rapidly took out his gun,caught it above his head without even looking and fired a shot into the ceiling.
“Which one of you stole my horse?"he shouted with surprising forcefulness. No one answered. “All right, I'm going to have another beer, and if my horse isn't back outside by the time I finish, I'm going to do what I have done in Texas ! And I don't like to have to do what I have done in Texas!" Some of the locals moved out very quickly. The man, true to his word , had another beer, walked outside, and his horse has been returned to the post .
He got onto the horse and started to ride out of town. The bartender wanderedout of the bar and asked,“Say partner ，before you go... what happened in Texas?"The
cowboy turned back and said, “I had to walk home.”
一个牛仔
一个牛仔骑马进了镇子，停在一个酒吧前，要杯酒喝。不幸的是，当地人总是喜欢作弄陌生人，而他就是个陌生人。当他喝完酒，他发现自己的马被人偷了。他又回到酒吧，飞快地拿出枪，看都没看地举枪过头，朝着天花板放了一枪。
“你们谁偷了我的马？”他用异乎寻常大的声音喊道。但是没有人回答。“好吧，我再要一杯啤酒。如果我喝完了酒我的马还没有在外面出现，我就会象我在德克萨斯州所做的那样！我并不想重演德克萨斯州那一幕！”有些当地人赶快溜了出去。那个人说话算话，又喝了一杯啤酒，走了出来，而他的马已经被还回来了，拴在树桩上。
他上了马，开始往镇外走。酒吧里的男招待溜出来问他：“我说，伙计，你走之前……你在德克萨斯州的时候发生什么事了？”那个牛仔转过身来说：“我不得不走回家。”
