both, either和neither
1.both指两个人或事物，在句中作主语、宾语、定语、同位语。如：
Both she and her husband worked hard for ten years in order to pay off the debts.
I asked both to take part in the activity.
Both answers are right.
My parents are both teachers.
They both swim well.
both常与and连用，连接两个并列成分。both与not连用，表示部分否定。如：
Both his mother and his father will be there.
Both of them haven't seen / Not both of them have seen the new film. (= Only one of them has seen the new film.)
2.either两者中的任何一个，在句中可作主语、宾语或定语。如：
Either is OK.
You may take either of the seats.
There are tall trees on either side / both sides of the road.
either常与or连用，构成并列连词。如连接的两个成分作主语，谓语动词采用就近一致原则。如：
Either you or I am right.
Either you or she has taken away my dictionary.
either也可用作副词，在否定句中常位于句末，表示“也”。如：
He doesn't like physics and I don't like it, either.
either在句中作主语时，谓语动词用单数。如：
Either of the two brothers likes playing football.
3.neither两者都不，它是both的完全否定形式，在句中作主语、宾语、定语。如：
Neither is correct.
I like neither of them.
Neither side will win.
neither在句中作主语时，谓语动词需用第三人称单数。如：
Neither of us has been to America.
neither与nor构成并列连词，表示“既不......也不......”之意。若连接成分作主语，应根据就近一致原则来确定谓语动词的形式。如：
Neither Miss Li nor I am willing to do the job.
neither用也可表示“也不”，位于句首，后面用倒装句。如：
I haven't been to America; neither has my wife.
