Why November 8th?
84 years ago, under the direct guidance of Premier Zhou, Fan Changjiang, Hu Yuzhi, a pioneer of the Chinese cultural movement, and others united the vast number of progressive journalists across the country to form the "China Young Journalists Association", which is now the Chinese Journalists Association.
In order to commemorate the news giant Comrade Fan Changjiang, in 2000, the State Council decided to designate November 8 of each year, the day he founded the "China Young Journalists Association", as "China Journalists' Day".

Why is there such an honor
Named the nation's highest award for journalism?
In 1909, Fan Changjiang was born in Zhaojiaba, Tianjia Town, Dongxing District.
In May 1935, Fan Changjiang began his famous trip to the northwest as a traveling correspondent for the Ta Kung Pao. He went deep into the northwest region of China to investigate and interview, publicly reported on the Long March of the Red Army, and wrote classic works such as "China's Northwest Corner" and "Plugged Up", which became famous in one fell swoop.
On November 8, 1937, under the guidance of the party organization, together with the vast number of progressive journalists across the country, the "Chinese Young Journalists Association" was formed.
In May 1939, with Zhou Enlai as the introducer, Fan Changjiang secretly joined the Communist Party of China, and since then, Fan Changjiang has gone from a democratic patriot to the ranks of proletarian vanguard fighters.
On January 31, 1949, Peiping was peacefully liberated. Fan Changjiang, then editor-in-chief of xinhua news agency, led a group of "news soldiers" to follow the vanguard of the People's Liberation Army into Beiping, and was ordered to take over the various news units of the Kuomintang in Beiping and form the first party newspaper after the liberation of Peiping, the "People's Daily Beiping Edition.", and Fan Changjiang became one of the founders and pioneers of new China's journalism.
In 1991, in order to carry forward the spirit of the Yangtze River, the Central Propaganda Department set up the highest award for journalists, the "Fan Changjiang Journalism Award".
In 2006, the restoration of Fan Changjiang's former residence was approved.

One. Fan Changjiang Former Residence
Fan Changjiang's former residence has a history of hundreds of years, with a string paneled structure and a small green tile roof, which is a typical residential style in southern Sichuan.
Its construction area is about 530 square meters, consisting of a preface hall and 16 exhibition halls, which are divided into two parts: "Local Customs" and "Era Show". It shows the social life and social changes and cultural development at that time, and the theme of "local feelings" partially restores the family scene of Comrade Yangtze River at that time and reproduces the social life of the countryside in southern Sichuan in that era.

3. The cultural heritage of the Integrity Education Center - Fan Changjiang Culture
The second section of the third theme unit on the second floor of the Integrity Education Center is "Appreciation of Honest Rhyme", cultural heritage - Fan Yangtze River culture, a special semi-enclosed exhibition area is designed to demonstrate the Yangtze River culture, and the outer wall of the exhibition area is embellished with ink-style clean art paintings.
Combined with the shape of the Ta Kung Pao, with the theme of Fan Changjiang's incorruptible spirit, in the context of time, it shows his incorruptible exposition and incorruptible deeds. The real scene restores Fan Changjiang's office, highlighting the strong sense of the times and its simple office environment, and the overall wall design adopts newspaper as the background element, highlighting Mr. Changjiang's important contribution to China's journalism.
As the founder of the new Chinese journalism, Mr. Changjiang's life and deeds can be described by the word "legend".
