Redskins will open talks to renew his contract with Kerrigan

author:Tiger Basketball

The Washington Redskins lost Brian Orakpo this offseason and they don't want to make the same mistake with two-time Pro Bowl passer Ryan Kerrigan. According to reports, Redskin has planned to start negotiations with Kerrigan's contract extension in the near future.

On Monday, local time, Kerrigan, who is about to enter the final year of his rookie contract, said: "What will happen will happen naturally, but the renewal is still a very important thing for me. Hopefully we can agree, I'm confident about that. The 26-year-old Kerrigan made 13.5 tackles last season, putting pressure on quarterbacks on 51 in total, both of which are second in the league's 3-4 outside guard. In March, Buffalo Bills and rusher Jerry Hughes agreed on a five-year, $45 million contract. Kerrigan's New Testament will align with this.

After losing Alakpo, the Redskins saw Kerrigan as the new core player in the defensive group. The team hopes to learn from the experience and start the contract extension work as soon as possible, trying to keep the white rusher passer.
