A documentary recently broadcast by CCTV
It tells the story of ancient biology researcher Yin Zongjun spent 8 years
The story of the 600 million-year-old sponge fossil found in Wong'an, Guizhou
This is currently the world's only isolated sponge specimen shows
Guizhou may be the first place on Earth where animals appear

Biota in Guizhou Wong'an
A large number of specimens are selected
By 2015 they finally found out
Fossil sponges from 600 million years ago
That's so far
The world's only isolated sponge specimen
Theory speculates
Sponges are the earliest animal ancestors
The discovery of this fossil sponge
Bring the animal origin time from 540 million years
Push forward 60 million years
This also shows that 600 million years ago, Guizhou Wong'an
The first animals on Earth may have appeared
Isn't very proud
Was it a pleasant surprise
Another 500 million-year-old "baby" was discovered
Recently, the research team led by Professor Zhao Yuanlong of the Paleontology Center of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of Guizhou University and a team composed of the Nanjing Institute of Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study, the University of Barcelona in Spain and the Royal Society published a paper entitled "leanchoiliidae reveals the ancestral organization of the stem euarthropod" in the cell sub-journal "currentbiology" brain" academic papers. This is the university's first paper in the cell sub-journal.
Arthropod nervous system evolutionary tree
It is understood that this research work reveals the brain structure of the cambrian Carey biota euthnoart stem taxon Leanchoiliidae through microfluorescence microscopy, energy spectrum analysis and other means, providing valuable fossil evidence for exploring the evolution of the central nervous system of arthropods, the most heterogeneous animal group on earth, confirming the original type of eucalyptus trichocenal brain, laying the cornerstone for the central nervous structure of the head of the earth's arthropods 500 million years after the Cambrian.
This achievement is a stage progress in the study of the fossil anatomy of arthropods since Professor Zhao Yuanlong discovered the Kaili biota in 1982, laying a solid anatomical foundation for the research team of the Paleontology Center of Guizhou University to carry out the next step of early arthropod paleontological research.

It is reported that the research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Project, and Lan Tian, a teacher at the Paleontology Center of Guizhou University, was the first author and first corresponding author of the paper.
