In 1950, after my unit received the task of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, the soldiers were able to strike hard at the US army, which was simply too bullying, and unscrupulously threw bombs on our territory; after training, when we set out to cross the Yalu River at night under artillery fire, the enemy's planes constantly bombed back and forth.
After arriving in North Korea, the soldiers ran more than a hundred kilometers a day like scuds, and they all carried weight forward, but these were not problems, the biggest problem was that we encountered unprecedented difficulties, that is, the cold and the transportation could not keep up, there was no water to drink, we cut open the snow above the ground to grab the snow below, a handful of snow and a handful of fried noodles, and then did not eat directly to eat the thorn fruit on the mountain, what day or two days without eating are normal, anyway, the sky is covered as a bed, all the way forward and all the way to the roundabout battle.
After arriving at the destination, our main task is to attack the Turkish brigade, the Turkish brigade is an infantry brigade of more than 5,000 people sent by the Turkish government to participate in the "United Nations Army", there is news that this infantry brigade is the "United Nations Army" combat effectiveness is relatively strong, when analyzing the war situation, we can not underestimate, but when fighting with the Turkish soldiers, they are like paper tigers poking and breaking, there is not much combat effectiveness at all, we rushed up, quickly defeated this team, and then we rested in Niukou Cave for three days and crossed the defensive line , pointing directly to the US Second Division.
The battlefield of the US Second Division was the most tragic, we were only fifty or sixty meters away from the US army, I was the squad leader, I had to take the lead in leading the soldiers to charge, raise the machine gun to open the way for the infantry, seeing the soldiers around me fall one by one, my firepower was getting fiercer, we machine gunners not only had to face the frontal enemy, but also responsible for air combat, using the machine gun as an anti-aircraft gun.
At night, when the American planes did not work, we began to attack at night, we would all calculate the time when the enemy lights flashed, it stopped me, it moved me to stop, did not leave any respite for the enemy, the Americans thought they had planes, artillery, tanks, we were afraid of him, and also threatened to say that Christmas will end the war, that is their wishful thinking, during the day our soldiers, as long as they see a low-flying plane, we also fought a lot, plus the cooperation of the Chinese Air Force later, American planes aren't so rampant either.
When attacking The Iron Plains, the "United Nations Army" wanted to advance deep along the road, we used the fortifications to repel countless US attacks, and repeatedly competed with the enemy for military points, the US army and the "United Nations Army" looked at the form was not good, pulled out their legs and wanted to run, then which line, we launched an offensive style, quickly cut off their retreating road, launched a fierce attack on the "United Nations Army" from various points, broke through one by one, annihilated many enemy troops, and then continued to build fortifications, and with the cooperation of the firepower of the other two armies, cut the US army and the "United Nations Army" into several sections. The 2nd Division, which severely damaged the US Army, abandoned its heavy weapons and fled in a hurry under the condition that there was no hope of a breakthrough, and was annihilated by the volunteers guarding the intersection.
In the course of the battle, shrapnel scratched my left eyeball, and during the treatment I missed the Battle of Shangganling, and I was very sorry in my heart; in my lifetime, I participated in the Nationalist army fighting the Japanese, I participated in the People's Liberation Army fighting Hu Zongnan's troops, after the founding of New China, I participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, I suppressed bandits for a year, because I could not see anything in my left eye, the party and the people's government cared about my words, let me change my profession and return to my hometown, and now, I live happily, but from time to time I will think of my comrades who sacrificed my comrades-in-arms, and I miss the days of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea with them and defending my family and defending the country.
