James Buchanan Barnes, also known as The Winter Soldier, is a Marvel Comics superhero who debuted in Captain America #1 and first appeared as Captain America Vol. 5# #1 as a Winter Warrior, co-created by Joe Simon and Jack Kobe.
Character backgrounds
As a teenager, Bucky Barnes was Captain America's buddy, helping him do less "American Idol" jobs on the battlefield, such as covert infiltrations and assassinations. During a mission (after the Red Skull), he took up the shield of the US team to resist the enemy in order to save the captain himself, but was knocked off a cliff and was later rescued by the enemy.
