Gao Li was listed as one of the "Four Traitors" in the "Water Margin". Gao Li did have his own person in history, he was a powerful minister of the Song Huizong Zhao Dynasty at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, compared to the famous "Six Thieves of the Northern Song Dynasty", Gao Li was actually not so bad. However, in the book "Water Margin", Gao Li is portrayed as a traitor who does no evil and frames Zhongliang.
Gao Li made four major appearances in Water Margin. The first was the persecution of Shi Jin's master, Lin Chong's predecessor, Wang Jin, the leader of the 800,000 Forbidden Army; the second was the persecution of Lin Chong, and the process of Lin Chong's ascension to Liangshan in the book was actually the process of Gao Taiwei's "officials forcing the people to rebel."
The third time, after Liangshan Juyi, Gao Li raised his army to attack Liangshan three times, and finally the army was defeated and captured, and Song Jiang was released; the fourth time, after Song Jiang and others accepted the invitation and conquest of Fang La's return to the dynasty, he and Cai Jing, Tong Guan, and others poisoned Song Jiang and Lu Junyi.
Therefore, in the book "Water Margin", from beginning to end, Gao Li has stood on the opposite side of Liangshan and has been harming people. From Wang Jin to Lin Chong, to all the good men of Liangshan, including Song Jiang and Lu Junyi, they would grit their teeth in hatred, but they had nothing to do with Gao Li.
Song Jiang captured Gao Li, but Gao Li was an important minister of the imperial court, and even if Lin Chong and others were dissatisfied, Song Jiang still had to respectfully put him back.
If, according to orthodox understanding, the good men of Liangshan are the righteous side, then Gao Li must represent the evil side. However, from the perspective of the Zhao and Song Dynasties, Gao Li tried every means to eliminate the Liangshan thieves and safeguard the interests of the feudal rulers and his own clique, but he was loyal to his duties and did his duty.
Gao Li's "dual identity" at least tells us that there is no absolute bad and absolute evil in the world, depending on what angle we stand in. From the perspective of the good men of Liangshan, Gao Li undoubtedly deserved to die for a thousand sins and a thousand swords; but Emperor Huizong of Song, as emperor, greatly admired Gao Li's ability to do things and was loyal and reliable.
In the same way, Song Jiang and others robbed their homes and pulled up the banner of "For the Heavenly Path", which on the surface seemed to represent a kind of civil justice and fairness, but for those ordinary people who were burned and looted by Liangshan, they were just a group of robbers who killed people without blinking.
Gao Li was born into a military household in the Xuanwu Army in Kaifeng Province, and at first he was just a street gangster, unlearned and unskilled, and even kicked out of the house by his father and severed the father-son relationship. In the Water Margin, it is recorded:
Gao Li only helps outside the city of Tokyo. Because he helped a son of the Pig Iron King to make money, three tiles and two houses a day, wind and snow, he was sued by his father in the Kaifeng Mansion, and Fu Yin broke Gao Li's twenty-spine staff and distributed it out of bounds, and the people of Tokyo City were not allowed to allow him to stay at home.
Gao Li has a special skill, which is the so-called "Keju", and he plays football well. Because of this extraordinary skill, it will run when it is high.
Although Gao Li was a broken settlement, through Liu Shiquan, who opened a gambling house, he met Dong Shijian, who opened a medicine shop; through Dong Shijian, who opened a medicine shop, he met Xiao Su, who was an official; through Xiao Su, he met Wang Jinqing, who was a donkey; through Wang Jinqing, who was a donkey, he met Zhao Yao, the DuanWang who was a prince.
Zhao Tuo was not yet an emperor at that time, and he was also a brother who did not learn any skills. Gao Li was on an errand at the home of Wang Duwei of the Horse, and one day Zhao Tuo went to the home of the Horse To eat and drink, and valued a jade paperweight lion. The horse endured the pain and planned to give this treasure to the Duan King.
The next day, Gao Li was arranged by the horse to deliver gifts to the Duanwang Mansion, and just happened to encounter Duan Wang playing leather ball with a few gang members. The ball rolled to Gao Li's feet, and Gao Li rose on a whim and revealed a "Mandarin Duck Crutch" stunt, and Rui Wang clapped his hands and applauded. Duan wang Zhao Tuo was famous for his love of play, and he immediately took a fancy to Gao Li and left him in the Rui Wangfu and became the captain of the "Qi Yun Society" team.
Gao Li was like this, kicking out his own future. With the right people in the royal family, the future is naturally unlimited. Later, Zhezong died, because there was no crown prince, and Zhao Yao, the Prince of Duan, was chosen by the empress to be emperor because he could be a man. Gao Li can be said to have gone through great luck, and after Zhao Li became emperor, he gave him the official position of a lieutenant.
First, if you want to soar, you must have the help of nobles. This is the first truth that Gao Li's traces tell us. The key to life is to take a few steps, to learn to rely on others, good at taking advantage of the situation.
Gao Li was able to counterattack all the way with a kick of leather, the salted fish turned over and embarked on the road to prosperity, and the high-ranking officials and prominent positions all the way to the top of the clouds, to become the commander of the Imperial Court Janissaries, what did he rely on?
Could it be playing leather ball? Of course not. Gao Li relies on the unchanging "personal connections" in China for two thousand years. How important is networking? Only when you meet someone who can appreciate you, you can have a better future.
In other cases, the skill of kicking the ball is nothing more than a small skill of carving insects, which is useless to Gao Qi's previous masters Liu Shiquan, Dong Shishi, Xiao Su Xueshi, and Wang Jinqing, who is a horse. But Gao Li met Zhao Tuo, who was the real nobleman in his life. Kicking the ball is unlearned in the eyes of others, but Zhao Yao is a good mouth.
Gao Li Chengtian and Zhao Li played leather ball to amuse him, King Rui later became emperor, can he not promote Gao Li who accompanied him to play leather ball with him as a high official? Imagine what would happen if Gao Li followed Liu Shiquan, who opened a gambling house all his life? At most, he can make a small fortune by making a thousand old people, and he will be a gambler who gambles like a bad gambler all his life. If Dong Shijian, who opened a medicine shop, did not drive him away, Gao Li could at most become a trader who did small business.
Second, the iron also needs to be hard. Study hard, cultivate your own skills, taoguang and obscure, and wait for the opportunity. This is the second truth that Gao Li's traces tell us. The opportunity comes, if you don't have the ability yourself, there is no way to promote you.
In "Water Margin", on the surface, Gao Li kicks people like a leather ball, but what changes his fate is to kick the ball. In fact, changing Gao Li is that he grasped the opportunity twice, showed his skills, and let the leaders see their own value.
In the case of Liu Shiquan, who opened the gambling house, and Dong Shijian, who opened the medicine shop, Gao Li had no place to play, and there was no future to speak of, so he simply left. In the xiaosu bachelor who was an official, Gao Li still touched a nose of ash. But when it came to Wang Jinqing, who was a donkey, Gao Li waited for his first opportunity.
Historically, Gao Li was by no means unlearned. He is proficient in calligraphy, writes beautifully, and has a certain foundation in poetry and song. Gao Li was originally Su Shi's secretary, and Su Dongpo was arguably the most knowledgeable person since the Song Dynasty, with calligraphy and painting articles, poems and songs giving the Song Dynasty the first. Being able to be a secretary under Su Dongpo, if Gao Li did not have a little real skill, how could he get into Su Dongpo's eyes?
Gao Li's personal success is inseparable from his own hard training in poetry, song, calligraphy and painting. Su Dongpo recommended Gao Li to his good friend Xiao Wang Du Wei (小王都尉 驸馬王诜), who himself was a master of Danqing calligraphy and painting. Later, Gao Li was recommended to the super calligraphy and painting enthusiast Duan Wang Zhao Tuo, so he was appreciated, and after Zhao Tuo became emperor, he went all the way to the top of the clouds and achieved the official position of a member of the imperial court.
Third, be proactive and forge ahead. Opportunities are not waiting to come, but to be created on their own initiative. This is the third truth that Gao Li's traces tell us. Opportunities are left to those who are prepared, and those who are bullish create opportunities by themselves.
It was also Gao Li who made his mark and when the luck came, the balloon rose to the ground, and the Duan Wang couldn't pick it up, and rolled straight into the crowd to Gao Li's side. When gao Qi saw the balloon coming, it was also a momentary courage to make a Mandarin duck turn and kick back the king. When King Duan saw the great joy, he asked, "Who are you?" ”
What would happen if Gao Li didn't have the audacity to kick that kick? He had to go back home the same way. What happens if Gao Li didn't kick well or kicked it off? At worst, he was beaten by Duan Wang's men, and he was beheaded for offending Wang Ye.
Gao Li seized the opportunity and kicked out the splendid future of his second half of his life. Gao Li is only a subordinate in the Horse Mansion, and he is not qualified to play football with Wang Ye, but he is not at peace, and at the critical moment he takes the initiative to perform, with an act of crossing the boundary, creating an opportunity for himself to come from the "Horse House" to the "Wang Ye Mansion".
From Liu Shiquan to Xiao Su To Ma all the way to Rui Wang, Gao Li defected to one by one more capable, higher status, and more room for development. It's like job hopping after work, you jump from a small company to a large company step by step, in order to have better development. When you come to a big company, you have to show your ability, not just promises and fears.
The large company went public, and Gao Li, who was originally just a clerk, was promoted to general manager. Gao Li entered the Wangye Mansion, performed well, and was deeply valued. Zhao Tuo became emperor and said to Gao Li: "I want to lift you up, but only if you have side merits can you be promoted, first teach the Privy Council to enter your name, just be a person who moves with you." ”
