Zhengding County, the birthplace of Changshan War Drum, was originally named Zhending, which is a national-level historical and cultural city and the hometown of folk art in Hebei Province. Since the Jin Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, it has been the seat of governance of counties, prefectures, roads and prefectures, and is the economic and cultural center of the ancient Hebei Central Hebei Southern Region.
Changshan war drum is a folk gong and drum composed of percussion instruments, commonly known as the drum. The drum team is composed of as few as a dozen people and as many as hundreds of people, and is composed of single drums, large cymbals, small gongs, string bells and other percussion instruments. The single drum is 50 cm in diameter and 30 cm thick, and the drummer uses colored silk to tie the drum around the waist, holding a pair of drumsticks painted with red lacquer carp, forked legs and chest, round arms, hammers hitting the drum surface, or hitting the drum edge, or two hammers hitting each other, and the drum points vary endlessly.
During the performance, the drummers either stand in circles, or line up in a triangle, or line up in a row, face to face; the cymbal striker or stand in the middle, or on both sides of the column, or opposite the drummer, cooperate with tacit understanding, and be fascinated. With graceful actions such as "flipping", "shooting", "rubbing", "flower strike", "neck wrapping", "pulling flowers", "jumping" and so on, sometimes like thunder and thunder, earth-shaking; sometimes like ten thousand horses galloping, invincible; sometimes turning sharply, like rain hitting plantains, cheerful and crisp. Only to see the drummer jumping, the drum cymbal flying up and down, the drumstick flying, the colorful silk fluttering, the momentum is majestic, the dance posture is beautiful, people are dazzled, and the spirit is uplifted. There are many Changshan war drums, most of which are composed of independent gong and drum strips, a total of 9 series and 72 sets.
The war drums of Zhengding Changshan Are sonorous and powerful, helping to strengthen their courage and urging people to forge ahead, resulting in a sense of heroism that is united in their hearts and invincible. Therefore, not only the Spring Festival and temple fairs should be knocked, but also the big celebrations and activities should be helped by them to make a grand sound.
