Sigmar Polke (1941-2010) entered art history and became famous for half a century back to the "capitalist realism" he proclaimed in the sixties with Gerhard Richter and Konrad lueg in the lively Düsseldorf, a "socialist realism" glorified in the GDR of the time. And a highly ironic slogan. During this time Joseph Beuys was teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts there, and the works of The American Pop, Dada and Francis Picabia were all the rage. Fluxus artists fiercely debated the meaning of art and life. Together with his friends, Polk decided to use painting to unleash a poignant irony and challenge to the dream world of consumer society and the narrow secular economic miracle of post-war Germany. At that time, the core values of German society were nothing more than exotic travel, material pleasures, the seduction of beauty posters and a fashionable home environment. Under the influence of American art, they formed an art form that was jokingly called "German Pop". The topics they deal with are not only ubiquitous media images, but also directed at various mainstream art schools. Polk used a work he created in 1968 titled "Modern Art" to abstract the constructivist and informal styles. He did not stop pinning his attention to contemporary art, and at the same time, contemporary artists began to accelerate the maverick pace that he was most accelerating, and his rich painting creation and unusual compositional strategies always brought inspiration to others.
