"13 Hours of Crisis", Hollywood version of "Operation Red Sea"

One sentence film review

Form elite squads, carry out rescues, be besieged by enemy troops, wait for reinforcements, kill bloody roads, retreat... What a familiar plot, but this is not "Operation Red Sea", but Hollywood's "13 Hours of Crisis".

Total score: 3.0 points.

1. Director

0.6 points. The level of the work of the great director Michael Bay in recent years has fluctuated, perhaps because the "Transformers" series has squeezed his creative talent, and may be the audience's aesthetic fatigue of his gunfight theme. This "13 Hours of Crisis" deliberately made a large reduction in the bombs he was good at, such as bombs flying up, shooting at a surround angle, and personal heroism, so this time, the director passed.

Second, the script

0.5 points. As a story based on true events, this kind of script is not easy to write. If it is not written well, it becomes a documentary, such as "Escape from Tehran"; it is well written, can sublimate the characters and achieve unexpected results, such as "Operation Red Sea". Obviously, "Crisis 13 Hours", decent, friendly, and reflection on war are all point-to-point.

Third, the protagonist

0.3 points. As an amateur film critic who has seen a lot of movies, I think that the kung fu of watching movies to recognize people is not bad, but this movie made me feel "face blindness" for the first time, six elite squad members, stunned that they were not on the number. The characters are too similar, the shape is basically the same, and the characters are not standing up. In this regard, the same type of "Thief's Nest" is doing better, the square and the opposite side have a team of many people, but the division of labor is clear and the personality is obvious. As for the heroine, I guess it should be the female agent, in a man's play, can borrow the only few scenes to basically establish the character image, has nothing to do with the script, pure actor's skills.

4. Supporting roles

0.5 points. There are not many supporting roles in this film, and there are many outstanding ones, such as the base supervisor, such as the ambassador, such as the local American employee, such as field agents. This supporting role, composed of each group representative in the war environment, they all have their own work, their own perseverance, their own value, war may not be able to avoid, but people living in that environment, always have their own efforts to survive.

5. Type

0.3 points. War-themed films based on real events include "Balkan Border", "Regime Change" and so on, and domestic ones include "Red Sea Operation" and "Mekong Operation". The film has no leading role in the genre, and at best it is basically completed.

Sixth, music

0.1 points. To complain, you can see from the use of music that this is indeed Michael Bay's movie. As one of the three old explosions, shots, and music, black music is indeed the director's favorite, and this music is also very applicable in the movie "Transformers" series or "Jedi X-Men" series.

7. Publicity

0.1 points. This film has many titles, one of the "Top Ten Modern War Movies", one of the "Three Adaptations of Michael Bay's Three True Events". But the film only grossed more than 19 million at the box office, which obviously did not meet the director's value.

8. Style

0.2 points. Changed the old three, the film style is much more intimate.

IX. Thought

0.2 points. Michael Bay's films, thought is never what he's good at, and if Ben Affleck had directed it, it might have been a little better.

Ten, screen

0.2 points. Same as item 8.
