Because of its deep industry background and reputation, most employers in the industry will recruit graduates from the college. According to statistics, the college receives employers to hold more than 60 special job fairs every year, providing more than 1,000 employment positions, which is two or three times the number of graduates every year.

The employment rate of graduates majoring in food science and engineering has always remained above 97%, and about 35% to 40% of graduates are admitted to graduate students of Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Murray University of Technology in Germany, University of Kansas in the United States, Jiangnan University, China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and South China University of Technology, etc., and 40% to COFCO, China Grain Storage, Yihai Kerry, Chia Tai, Jiangsu Shepherd, Swiss Buller, Guilin Liyuan and other large well-known enterprises in the industry; there are about 10% of them. In 2000, he joined Yihai Kerry Group's first factory in China, Nanhai Oil & Fat Industry (Chiwan) Co., Ltd. During the company's period, he led and organized a number of new project construction, production line technical transformation, obtained good economic and social benefits, a number of innovative technologies obtained national invention patents or utility model patents, individuals were appointed as the chief quality officer of the enterprise, and the enterprise was awarded the "Shenzhen Pengcheng Waste Reduction Excellence Award" and "Shenzhen Mayor Quality Award". In October 2018, Pan Kun was awarded the Fourth National Grain and Oil Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker.

The school-enterprise cooperation between Wuhan Polytechnic University and Yihai Kerry can be traced back to earlier.
