Legend has it that TaiBo Ben Wu came to the place where Jingman lived on the first night, which was originally a circular mound, but there was no such name at that time. After the establishment of the Gou Wu Kingdom, this altar place was called "Wentai".
Since the establishment of the Gou Wu Kingdom, the sacrifice ceremony has become more solemn and integrated into the etiquette of the Yellow River Basin. Before the sacrifice, Tabor, Zhongyong, and all those who participate in the sacrifice are required to bathe, fast, and examine the sacrifices and sacrificial vessels of the gods. On the day of the sacrifice, Taibo and Zhongyong led the crowd to the outskirts early in the morning, and the two of them wore dresses decorated with patterns such as the sun, moon, stars, and landscapes, wearing a crown on their heads, a large gui at the waist, and a zhengui in their hands, facing the west and standing on the southeast side of Wentai. At this time, the drums sounded in unison, and it was reported that the Emperor of Heaven had come to enjoy the sacrifice. The animals, along with the sacrifices of Jade Bi, Yu Gui, and Gong Shu, were placed on the firewood stack and lit, so that the fireworks rose high in the sky and the Heavenly Emperor could smell the smell.
At the end of the sacrifice, the devotees also share the wine used in the sacrifice and bless the people, which is called "Xifu", which is also called "drinking blessing" in future generations. Taibo and Zhongyong wanted to give the sacrificial meat to the people, called "giving the gizzard.".
This tradition of sacrifice has been passed down from generation to generation by King Wu
After king Wu moved the capital to Gusu

And Merry's wentai was renamed "Old Wentai"
