Recently, at e3 2021, the b society announced the first trailer of the sci-fi RPG masterpiece "Starfield", which made many players excited. Subsequently, todd Howard, the game director of B Society, was interviewed by Telegraph and revealed new details about "Starry Sky".
Howard said: "It's a more hardcore work than our previous RPG works, and it has a great character system - choose your own character background, do multiple customizations, and so on. We wanted to go back a long way to some of the things we did in the game a long time ago so that players could actually play the character they wanted to be. ”
Howard confirmed that, like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyline and Fallout, Starry Sky can switch between first- and third-person, allowing players to choose their preferred perspective. And Starry Sky also has a lot of mission objectives and story content that players can immerse themselves in. Of course, if the player does not want to do the task, but just wants to see the scenery in the game, such as watching the sunset, picking flowers and so on, it is also quite interesting. ”
Howard said: "Although Starry Sky is a science fiction work, many of the settings in the game are based on real science, and the gameplay is also affected by it, and the player is more immersive when playing. "Look at this ship, you can design a more stylish ship in 300 years, right?" But that can be traced back to the current space program. In your mind, you can draw a line between them. ”
However, Howard also said that Starry Sky is a game, not a realistic space simulation. The game's realistic scientific logic is designed to create an atmosphere, and the B Society even gets help from Musk's space x to conduct field research. But it's only part of the game, and it doesn't make a fuss about letting everything go the analog reality route.
Howard laughed and said, "Do you know how people will live in the future?" How does the device work and what are the communication rules? You take this for granted in the game, you can communicate from planet to planet, or do something else. But we have rules. No, it's going to take years... Not everything in the game has to follow the rules of physics, such as the player can see the laser in a vacuum environment, and there is sound in the vacuum. ”
In Starry Sky, humans are not alone. There are many planets to explore in the game, and there are also some alien races. Not just alien critters or creatures, but real alien races. As players explore the Starry Sky universe, they encounter and interact with other races.
Howard didn't reveal specific details about the planet's exploration, but he said that Starry Sky focuses on exploratory gameplay, is a "100 hours" level masterpiece, and will provide players with a long play time.
Starry Sky will be released on November 11, 2022, landing on xsx/s and PC platforms, and joining the Xbox game pass on the first day of release.
