The ancients often said that there is heaven on the top and Suzhou and Hangzhou on the bottom. The beautiful scenery of the West Lake, under the Leifeng Pagoda, and outside the Lingyin Temple, I don't know how many literati and inkers have been left behind. Talking about Hangzhou is always desirable, however, the original Hangzhou was not a fairyland on earth, where literati rioters stopped. On the contrary, he did not have the natural beauty of Huangshan and Changbai Mountain, and the earliest location of Hangzhou was just a saltwater lake formed by the silt accumulation of rivers, and then a saline alkali land derived from the saltwater lake. Hangzhou, which has become a paradise on earth, has been completely built by generations.
First of all, people dredged the freshwater river (Wulin Water) for that saltwater lake, so that it gradually became a brackish water lake, which is the West Lake. Then, build a large pond to defend the sea to resist the raging sea, which is Qiantang.
At the beginning of the seventh century, the Sui Dynasty Emperor opened the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which reached Hangzhou, making Hangzhou an important city at once. Due to the increase in residents, the city's water must be taken from the West Lake, and in the eighth century, the "six wells" connecting the water source of the West Lake were dug, making the city of Hangzhou and the West Lake more dependent.

In the 1920s, the great poet Bai Ju was appointed as the Assassin of Hangzhou. But he did not come to write poetry, but to do things. The problem he encountered was that many farmlands on the edge of the West Lake were waiting for the West Lake to be irrigated, and a large amount of reed grassland had appeared in the middle of the West Lake, and the water storage was greatly reduced. Therefore, he carefully studied the relationship between "storage" and "discharge", first dug the bottom of the lake, and built a levee higher than the original lake surface, which greatly increased the water storage capacity of the West Lake. Then, the drain is quantified according to the needs of the pipe belt. In addition, he also dredged the civilian "six wells".
The one who really regarded Hangzhou as an eternal home was Qian Hao, the king of Wuyue in the tenth century, who was one of the few urban architects in Chinese history. Qian Hao founded the State of Wuyue, one of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, a small southeastern country with Suzhou in the north and Fuzhou in the south, and the center of this small country was Hangzhou.
To govern the country, Qian Hao first started with the treatment of water. He first built the seawall outside Hangzhou with the greatest strength. The original slate seawall could not resist the tide of the sea, so he ordered the fabrication of a long bamboo cage to fill the boulders, crossed as a pond, and then used the nine-fold giant wood as a pillar to lay down six layers of wooden stakes, on the basis of which to build a "hanhai pond". In addition, gates were built along the Qiantang River to prevent seawater from being poured back. In this way, as the biggest ecological threat in Hangzhou, he was surrendered, and people called him the "Sea Dragon King".
The sea pipe was settled, and then the lake was moved. He had long ago discovered that the biggest trouble in the West Lake was the congestion of the grass, and at this moment, in the style of a military commander, a large number of "lake soldiers" were set up, who removed the grass and the silt by the way. These people are all military establishments, so it can be said that Qian Hao regarded the treatment of the lake as a big battle to defend the West Lake.
The purpose of controlling water is to build a city, and Qian Hao has made great contributions to the construction of Hangzhou. Zhuzi Castle, Waist Drum Castle, planned the streets in the city, and developed the surrounding mountains, especially the opening of The Ciyun Ridge, which opened a passage between the Qiantang River and the West Lake. In addition, temples were built to promote Buddhism, and beautification requirements were made to the city and the West Lake. Qian Hao's contribution has made Hangzhou truly a livable city and a paradise that people yearn for.
Another person who repaired Hangzhou was Su Dongpo, a famous literary hero of the Song Dynasty. When he first went to Hangzhou to make a general judgment, he found that the West Lake had been blocked by three-tenths of the grass; when he came to Zhizhou for the second time, it was already half stuffed; from the trend point of view, in another twenty years, the West Lake would be completely exhausted and no longer exist.
Without the West Lake, Hangzhou will no longer exist, not only will it become an abandoned city, the farmland around Hangzhou will not be irrigated, and freshwater aquaculture, winemaking, handicrafts will disappear one by one, and the important source of tax revenue of the country will also disappear. Therefore, he began a large-scale rescue project. His proposal includes the following areas:
1. Where the congested areas in the lake have been reclaimed into fields, it is ordered that all farmland be returned to the lake.
Second, dig deep into the bottom of the West Lake, and stipulate that the central part is not allowed to cultivate rhododendrons, so as to avoid siltation at the bottom of the lake.
Third, a long causeway across the lake was built with a large amount of excavated mud, and six stone bridges were built in the embankment to circulate the lake water, which is the "Su Causeway.".
Fourth, build a weir gate between the West Lake and the canal so that the tide does not enter the lake.
5. Requisition thousands of migrant workers to dredge the canal to ensure the smooth flow of water transport.
Sixth, replace the water transmission bamboo pipe connecting the West Lake and the "six wells" with the structure of the stone trough tile cylinder, so that the water transmission system will not be damaged for a long time, and build two new wells.
Each of these things is a major event to revitalize the teachers and the masses, and all of them are piled together to do, which can keep the people of Hangzhou busy. Everyone in the city knows that the commander-in-chief is Su Dongpo; but everyone has forgotten that this Su Dongpo is the Su Dongpo whose poetry shocks the world!
Although the Song Dynasty was constantly plagued by border troubles and poverty and weakness, the degree of civilization reached was indeed the highest peak of ancient Chinese culture, and the peak of these thousands of cultures was concentrated in Hangzhou.
Ecology first, culture later. It is perfectly interpreted in Hangzhou, and it is the cultivation of generations of people that makes this city a famous ecological city and a historical city at home and abroad.
Original debut, editor is not easy, appreciate the American text, hope to pay more attention to "that is, the wind said"
