author:Shangguan News

According to local media reports on April 15, there has been a new development in the investigation into the murder of the famous Greek journalist George Karavaz. An investigation and analysis of Karavaz's activities and work in recent years by the Greek police found that he had testified in a police intelligence case last year and will continue to testify as a witness this year. Police have linked the murder to the intelligence case. In addition, the police also compared the same type of cases in the past 20 years to find 4 people who may have participated in or knew the information of the case.

For several days, the Greek police have continued to conduct door-to-door questioning and surveillance footage near the scene of the crime. Police released a new video on April 14. The footage was taken by security cameras from an apartment building about 1.5 km from the site where Karavaz was shot.

The video shows two killers fleeing after killing Karawaz. According to the time show, the video was filmed 1 minute after Karawaz was killed.

According to the police, the scooter driven by the two killers was driving at high speed, so it could reach the place 1.5 kilometers away in 1 minute. The killer further 800 meters further ahead to reach the busy Poseidon Corniche. But police are still unclear about the direction of the killer's escape after reaching Poseidon Corniche.

The video also shows the front seat driver still wearing a helmet, the back seat gunner wearing a hat and mask, and the firearm still in his hand. The reason the killer did not hide his weapon after the attack may be that he had already changed the magazine while the vehicle was moving, would shoot if necessary, and was therefore on standby.

The police had earlier believed that the killers might have traveled to Greece from abroad on a mission, did not even know who the victims were, and might have left Greece after completing the mission. But for now the police have largely dismissed this speculation, because Karavaz is not a "dangerous target", he has no weapons and no bodyguards, so there is no need to hire killers from abroad. Police believe the killer may have been a native of Greece or a foreigner who had lived in Greece for many years and was very familiar with the terrain and driving routes on the southern outskirts of Athens.

An investigation and analysis of Karavaz's activities and work in recent years by the Greek police revealed that he testified in a case related to the national intelligence system last year and will continue to testify as a witness this year. In this case, another officer at the supervisory level was killed. Therefore, the police speculated that it was possible that the parties involved knew that Karawaz would testify and killed him.

The police also focused on four people who had been sentenced for attempted murder, extortion, bodily harm, and illegal use of weapons, and have now been released. Police said they may have been involved in the murder or knew the information.

Greek police also said that in the three days before Karavaz was killed, the assailants had prepared to do it several times, but for some reasons they did not achieve it.

Two days before Karawaz's murder, on April 7, Karavaz took his wife home after finishing the screening on The Greek Star Television.

On April 8, Karavaz ended work early and returned home one hour earlier than usual.

On April 9, Karavaz drove home at normal times and on the usual route, and because his son had parked his newly purchased car in the garage, he had to look for a parking space outside the apartment building. However, there was no parking space nearby that day, so he had to park his car outside a park 90 meters away from his apartment.

Police suspect that the gunman's accomplices may have driven the car outside his apartment building to occupy a parking space before Karawaz returned home, forcing him to walk alone on the street for a few minutes to facilitate the gunman's action.
