Qian Jun, formerly known as Qian Yunbin. Born on May 2, 1905 in Qianjiawan Village, Tulou Township, Henan Province. His family was poor at an early age, and he was forced to herd cattle for the landlord at the age of 6, and at the age of 8, he left home to go to XuanhuaDian in Lishan County, Hubei Province (now part of Dawu, Hubei) to earn a living and learn from a lacquer craftsman. After 3 years, he learned to strike iron, nail palm, and horse riding. At the age of 13, he entered the Shaolin Temple to study martial arts, and returned to his hometown at the age of 18, taking up the burden of family life, supporting his family, burning charcoal, working as a lacquer painter, and a livestock. In 1925, he was introduced to a cast iron factory in Hankou, Hubei Province, as a sand turner, and began to participate in revolutionary activities in the same year. He joined the Communist Party of China in February 1927

After the founding of New China, he served as the commander of the Jiaodong Military Region and the commander-in-chief of the 3rd Industrial Zone of the National Defense Construction Engineering Headquarters of the Shandong Military Region. In 1955, he was transferred to the deputy commander of the Zhejiang Military Region, and in 1960, he was changed to the commander of the Zhejiang Provincial Military Region. From 1965 to 1975, he was the deputy commander of the Nanjing Military Region, and in October 1983, the Central Military Commission made it clear that he enjoyed the full-time treatment of the Grand Military Region. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general and was awarded the Order of August 1, Second Class, the Order of Independence and Freedom, First Class, and the Order of Liberation, First Class. In 1988, he was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Red Star, First Class. He died in Nanjing on April 13, 1990. He is the author of "Memoirs of Qian Jun".
