Legendary Hollywood actor christopher Plummer, a Canadian national treasure, died at his home in Connecticut on February 5 (Friday) at the age of 91.
Christopher Plummer was born on December 13, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario. In 1965, he became famous worldwide for playing the role of Captain von Trapp in the feature film The Sound of Music, directed by Robert Wise.
He has also starred in "A Beautiful Mind", "The Last Stop", "Beginner", "Flying House Around", "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and other works. He is still active in recent years, and he has performed brilliantly in "The World of Money" and "Blade Out of the Sheath". In 2012, he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Beginner, making him the oldest Oscar actor winner and nominee.
Plummer's acting career spanned 75 years, starring in more than 100 films and also being active on the theatrical stage, known as Canada's national treasure actor. He has won the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, British Academy Film Award, Emmy Award, Tony Award and many other awards.
