Brief introduction

In 2007, the work "Luohan Drama Beast" was awarded the Gold Medal in the selection of chinese collectors' favorite art masters and elites.

In 1992, after graduating from high school, he studied shoushan stone carving with his brother who also worked in a stone carving factory. During the period in the stone carving factory, he practiced hard, humbly asked the teacher in the factory for advice, and laid a solid foundation for stone carving. After three years of successful graduation, he first helped people process some works, and then a friend introduced a Taiwanese merchant, who was very satisfied with his carved works, so the two sides began long-term cooperation. In 2008, when his cooperation with Taiwanese merchants ended, he began to create his own works, and won many awards.

Take the fa of the ancients, and strive for fine products

Zheng Guofeng's antique round carving figure inherits the traditional carving techniques of Yang Yuxuan and other predecessor artists, and the shape is plump and simple. In the treatment of clothing patterns, more yin-shaped hook lines are used to express the pleats of clothing, the lines are refined, and the fluttering texture of the clothes is vividly expressed in a few knives, giving people a sense of authenticity. On the edge of the clothes, fine lines, smooth knife transport, carved and elaborate patterns, even the very fine water pattern brocade, sea breeze pattern is also clear knife knife, dense and not chaotic, and the cloth pleat of the yin hook pattern in stark contrast. Bold and elegant, rough and fine organically combined. In the performance of the face of the character, attention is paid to the eye, the beard, eyebrows and hair are often used with dot or short punch knives, layer by layer, the weight is just right; and these parts and eyes are dyed with ink, which is strongly contrasted with the warm texture of Shoushan stone, enhancing its artistic effect. In addition, some works are embedded with gem beads in specific parts, which also play a good decorative effect. For example, one of his "Luohan", the characters have full faces, smiling faces, slightly open eyes, wide and flat noses, slightly open lips, and hands on the chest, seemingly moving, but in fact quiet, giving people a sense of concentration. The engraving is appropriate, dense and rhythmic, and the frame is inlaid with gemstones.

Good at skillful color, the magic work Tiancheng in addition to the creation of antique characters, Zheng Guofeng also has a lot of experience in the creation of popular round sculpture characters, of which he is best at the use of clever color. Carefully admiring his works, it is not difficult to find that each of his works is very distinctive in the treatment of stone colors. For example, he has a work in which three different characters are carved in yellow, black and white, and these three characters are brought together to show a scene; but the three colors are so independent and prominent that everyone has their own characteristics. Zheng Guofeng said that Shoushan stone is rich in color, and Shoushan stone carving is also rich in characteristics because of the use of clever colors.

How to make the right use of the color and try to highlight the natural beauty of Shoushan stone is crucial. Shoushan stone carving techniques usually have three kinds, one is the contrast technique, with the stone color as the dividing line, carving their own independent scenery, red is red, white is white, white can be psychic, red is more attractive. Speaking of which, he took out a work from the cupboard and carved it also of an arhat. He uses red to carve the upper body of the figure, and uses white to represent the lower body of the character, and the red and white are distinct, which can indeed get a breathtaking effect. The second is to highlight the main color of the handicraft, the distribution of Shoushan stone color or complex, or the color boundary is not obvious, to choose a trade-off, highlight the theme, there is a green leaf lining red flowers. The third is a surreal approach. Scenes that coincide with stone design are the usual techniques, but not sticking to the real color of the object and designing and creating with supernatural imagination often makes the work more modern.
