Wu Zhaoqian, a famous scholar of the Qing Dynasty, was born into a family of officials and eunuchs in Songling, Wujiang (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu), and his ancestors were officials in the dynasty for three generations. Therefore, Wu Zhaoqian received a good education since he was a child, coupled with his own extraordinary talent, he appeared to be talented in his youth, and was also known as the "Three Phoenixes of Jiangzuo". According to historical records, Wu Zhaoqian can write poetry at the age of five, he can write gifts at the age of seven, and he can write long articles at the age of ten, but Wu Zhaoqian is not a perfect person, and his biggest problem is that he is too arrogant, which is also a common disease of caizi.

Wu Zhaoqian is well known for his talent, but his arrogance is well known to everyone, and he does not obey the etiquette. For example, when Wu Zhaoqian was studying in a private school, he would make fun of anyone who wore a hat, and even took off his hat and threw it into the water, laughing and saying, "What hat is this tacky person wearing?" There are countless similar examples, so it is not surprising that people say to him behind his back: "This son will be famous when he is different, but he should not be spared disasters", and soon Wu Zhaoqian encountered the biggest setback in his life.

In the fourteenth year of Shunzhi (1657 AD), when Wu Zhaoqian was 26 years old, it was the time when the teenager was high and spirited. In the autumn of that year, Wu Zhaoqian also took the imperial examination in Suncheon Province like tens of thousands of ordinary students, and after the results were released, some students reported to the imperial court that there was fraud in the field. Therefore, the Shunzhi Emperor ordered all the zhongju students to retake the examination in Yingtai, and each student was proctored by two guards with knives, just like the guards. Wu Zhaoqian was one of them, he felt that being watched for the exam was a denial of his talent, so he dropped his pen, handed over the white paper and walked out of the examination room, and finally the Shunzhi Emperor was furious when he learned of this, so he exiled him to Ningguta.

Ningguta, which is now Hailin City, Heilongjiang, because of its remote location and very harsh natural climatic conditions, was also the place with the largest number of exiled prisoners during the Qing Dynasty. Wu Zhaoqian was exiled in Ninguta for twenty-three years, during which he escaped from death many times, and finally returned alive with the help of his friend Gu Zhenguan, so during these twenty-three years, Wu Zhaoqian and Gu Zhenguan also developed a deep affection. However, unexpectedly, there were also some contradictions between Wu Zhaoqian and Gu Zhenguan.

As mentioned above, Wu Zhaoqian was arrogant and arrogant, and although he had been in Ninguta for twenty-three years, his personality had not changed at all. Soon after Wu Zhaoqian returned, he quarreled with Gu Zhenguan over a poem, and finally got into a fight. Later, Nalan Mingzhu learned of this and found Wu Zhaoqian, and also took him into his study, and as a result, a line in the study made Wu Zhaoqian dumbfounded--Gu Liangfen bent his knees for Wu Hancha. Gu Liangfen is Gu Zhenguan, and Wu Hancha is Wu Zhaoqian, which means that Gu bends his knees to save Wu and asks for help. In fact, Gu Zhenguan spared no effort to save Wu Zhaoqian's return, begged everywhere for people and trusted relations, and worked hard for twenty-three years to let him regain his freedom.

Wu Zhaoqian once wrote a letter to Gu Zhenguan, "The bitter cold outside the sai, the ice and snow at four o'clock, the sound of the dysprosium and the wind, the mourning with blood..." After Gu Zhenguan read the letter, his heart was like a knife, and he secretly made up his mind to save Wu Zhaoqian. Unfortunately, Gu Zhenguan was humble and light-hearted, so he found Nalan Mingzhu, who was not only an official of the imperial court at that time, but also had quite a connection in the court, but Nalan Mingzhu refused at first, because he did not want to wade into the muddy waters of Wu Zhaoqian's case, but later he was still touched by the friendship between Gu Zhenguan and Wu Zhaoqian and was willing to help Gu Zhenguan. Finally, in the twentieth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1681 AD), with the help of Gu Zhenguan's planning, the Kangxi Emperor released Wu Zhaoqian on the grounds of the project.

Wu Zhaoqian was very grateful to Gu Zhenguan after returning from Ningguta, but he did not know what Gu Zhenguan had done for him during the past twenty-three years, because Gu Zhenguan was not a person who liked to ask for credit, so he did not say anything more to Wu Zhaoqian. But all this Nalan Mingzhu saw in his eyes, so when Wu Zhaoqian and Gu Zhenguan had a contradiction, Nalan Mingzhu knew that it must be Wu Zhaoqian who began to be arrogant and arrogant again, and did not take Gu Zhenguan seriously, so Nalan Mingzhu let Wu Zhaoqian go to his study, and also let Wu Zhaoqian look at a line of big characters - Gu Liangfen bent his knees for Wu Hancha, telling him that Gu Zhenguan was the only "true friend" in his life, and he could no longer be arrogant and arrogant.

As a result, we all know that Wu Zhaoqian suddenly repented, he did not expect Gu Zhenguan to give up his face for himself, silently working hard for twenty-three years without giving up, this incident made Wu Zhaoqian cry with a headache and felt sorry for Gu Zhenguan. In this regard, we should also be inspired not to hurt those who have helped themselves, they are respectable friends.
