In September 1949, Tao Zhiyue, then chairman of the Xinjiang government and commander-in-chief of the Xinjiang garrison, led more than 100,000 officers and soldiers in Xinjiang to revolt and accept the reorganization of the People's Liberation Army, a move that made great contributions to the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang.
However, the process of Tao Zhiyue's uprising was not smooth, and after Tao Zhiyue revealed his idea of uprising, three generals resolutely opposed this matter, and these three generals were Ma Chengxiang, Ye Cheng, and Luo Shuren.
At that time, these three people were all serving as division commanders under Tao Zhiyue, but they were not in the same heart as Tao Zhiyue, because they were leading the concubine troops raised by Lao Jiang, and Lao Jiang could not fully trust Tao Zhiyue, so he sent his own concubines to Xinjiang to implement a strategy of checks and balances on Tao Zhiyue.
Before Tao Zhiyue's formal uprising, Ma Chengxiang had already discovered that something was wrong, and he felt that Tao Zhiyue's attitude towards combat was very negative, so he sent his own eyeliner to keep an eye on Tao Zhiyue, and sure enough, he found that Tao Zhiyue and others were secretly connecting with our party. Ma Chengxiang was horrified in his heart, if Tao Zhiyue's uprising was successful, then they would have no drama to sing. Ma Chengxiang, who was terrified in his heart, immediately approached Ye and Luo to discuss countermeasures.
At that time, Tao Zhiyue had a powerful assistant, Liu Mengchun, secretary general of the Xinjiang provincial government, and when Tao Zhiyue contacted our party, Liu Mengchun also came forward. After discussing with the other three, Ma Chengxiang decided to mobilize manpower before the Tao Zhiyue uprising, first secretly removing Liu Mengchun, abolishing one of Tao Zhiyue's arms, and then trying to control Tao Zhiyue.
However, Tao Zhiyue also received the news, on the evening of September 19, Ma Chengxiang planned to mobilize soldiers and horses, but he did not expect Tao Zhiyue to run to his palace, which surprised Ma Chengxiang. Tao Zhiyue did not go around in circles and directly showed his cards to Ma Chengxiang, and Tao Zhiyue advised Ma Chengxiang that with the strength of the three of them now, there was no way to confront Tao Zhiyue, and instead of dying and struggling, it was better to cooperate with Tao Zhiyue. If the three of them did not want to revolt, Tao Zhiyue was willing to take a step back, send them out of Xinjiang, give them a sum of money, and let them have no worries about food and clothing for the rest of their lives.
After listening to Tao Zhiyue's words, the three people weighed it again and again, and finally decided to listen to Tao Zhiyue's opinion. Tao Zhiyue also spoke his mind, and after taking back the military power of the three people, he saw that the three people did not have the idea of revolting with him, so he sent a special person to send the three people to India. After leaving, the three never returned to Xinjiang.
After arriving in Calcutta, India, the three people no longer worried about their personal safety, but began to think about where they would go in the future. Their ideas are very consistent, go to Taiwan. The three of them were unwilling to submit to the People's Liberation Army in their hearts, and besides, they were all close associates of Old Chiang Kai-shek, preferring to continue to mix with Old Chiang. Since Lao Jiang, the boss, has already run to Taiwan, they naturally have no way out if they run to Taiwan.
The first person to return to Taiwan was Ma Chengxiang, who was a very well-connected person compared to the other two. Ma Chengxiang and the great warlord Ma Bufang have some relatives, exiled to India did not rush to Taiwan, but first arrived in Saudi Arabia, many of the old departments of ma family army have run to the Middle East, Ma Chengxiang arrived, soon mixed up, he and his family spent more than a year in Saudi Arabia drunk gold fans. However, as time passes day by day, Ma Chengxiang feels that he always stays in a foreign country, and it is difficult to guarantee how to go in the future.
So in the summer of 1950, Ma Chengxiang came to Taiwan with his family, although in the process of the liberation of Xinjiang, he did not fulfill the "responsibility" that old Chiang wanted him to do, but there were more indisputable people in the Nationalist army than Ma Chengxiang, so Ma Chengxiang was not punished, and he also returned to the army smoothly, relying on the care of his superiors and friends to become the deputy commander of the Penghu Defense Department. Ma Chengxiang worked in this position for many years, and finally died in Taiwan at the age of 78. Many of his descendants still returned to xinjiang to live, and Ma Chengxiang's only regret before his death was that he could not return to his hometown to see, but he never got the opportunity to go home in his life.
Compared with Ma Chengxiang, Ye Cheng and Luo Shuren's career path is relatively average, when Ma Chengxiang spent his days and nights in Saudi Arabia, Ye Cheng and Luo Shuren had already taken a plane to Taiwan, and they did not have the conditions to linger elsewhere. After all, Ye Cheng was still from the Whampoa Military Academy, and President Jiang took good care of this student, and when he saw him coming to Taiwan, he first asked him to go to the military academy and then plate him with a layer of gold, and then let him go to the Ministry of National Defense to take up a post.
Unfortunately, Ye Cheng's good life did not last long, the small demon in the Taiwan temple at that time was very windy, today's house arrest, tomorrow's liquidation, making government officials everyone endanger themselves, old Chiang's suspicions were really very serious, from time to time to give the government a big blood change, even if it was his own hand cultivated concubines, he could not trust. If it was an old fritter like Ma Chengxiang, he might not be afraid of tossing, but Ye Cheng's skill was still not enough compared with Ma Chengxiang.
In 1954, Ye Cheng was demoted to military adviser of the Ministry of National Defense for some unclear reasons, although the department was still the Ministry of Defense, but in the past Ye Cheng had real military power in his hands, but now he could only be a dumb adviser. Ye Cheng was very helpless about this, but during such a period, it was very good to be able to live safely, and Ye Cheng could only accept the arrangement of fate and do a lifetime of idle work, in 1994, Ye Cheng died of illness in Taiwan at the age of 89.
Of the three, the first to die was Luo Shuren. He and Ye Cheng came to Taiwan together, and also entered the army as a general, and later became Ma Chengxiang's subordinate for a time, in 1954 Ye Cheng was ostracized, but Luo Shuren was not too affected, safely survived these storms, his official positions were repeated, ups and downs, the scenery was also lost, and the days can be said to be more than enough than the top and the bottom.
Luo Shuren held the position of deputy commander of the Taiwan Second Army at the most beautiful time, but Luo Shuren did not escape the death of old age and illness, and in 1969, when the two colleagues were still in good spirits, Luo Shuren's body was already terminally ill, and on September 25, 1969, Luo Shuren died of illness at the age of 64. Coincidentally, the day tao Zhiyue electrified the Xinjiang uprising was also September 25, and the day Luo Shuren died was the 20th anniversary of the Xinjiang uprising.
The torrent of history cannot be stopped, today's Xinjiang has been transformed, and the generals of the old era have forever remained in the old era, becoming a small fragment in the history of Xinjiang, the past is no longer traceable, and Xinjiang has a more promising future.
