Born in 1926, Su Xiu has dubbed and produced films such as Peter the Great, Lone Star Blood and Tears, Red and Black, Shadow Troops, Stepmother, Illiston's Son, and Massacre on the Nile, and is an important vocal memory in the minds of a generation.
Director Zhang Jianya, chairman of the Filmmakers Association, saw Lin Dongfu's article "A Sunset" in May, writing about the relationship between Lin and Su, which gave him the idea of listening to the story between Su Lin through the Maritime Film Forum, and personally feeling their "mother-child affection" and the spiritual context of artistic inheritance between the two generations of dubbers.

Although Su Xiu, who is 92 years old, has been in poor health recently, she still insists on coming to the scene to share her artistic life with the fans of translation and production. In the past, Su Xiu has told on many occasions about his grasp of the role and the "spirit of translation" continued from Chen Shuyi, the old director of the Shanghai Translation Factory, and on the forum of the day, from the "deep love of master and apprentice" to the "dubbing concept", Su Xiu's colorful narration is still full of professional charm and life philosophy.
Take students without opening the back door

Regarding dubbing, Su Xiu adheres to the sentence of "you have something in your heart, only dare to pause", with the voice of others, it is equivalent to interpreting the soul of others, before dubbing, she has her own control over the scene, so as an actor, you must have imagination and be good at observation. "As an actor, you can't go through everything, and being a murderer doesn't mean killing people, you have to look at all kinds of people."
At the level of dubbing attitude, Lin Dongfu believes that people need to be respected, "I miss that time very much, not late, prepare well, go to the theater in advance, maybe now go to the young people to say this, they also think that you are too demanding, but we brought out the older generation at that time, I think it is natural." 」
