Managing people is a science. From the perspective of human resources, some people say that a person can directly manage up to seven people, and can be multi-managed, but the effect is not good. You can try, manage thirty or fifty people, or even manage three or five hundred people, a pole inserted to the end, the middle is not hierarchical, the result is afraid of only one: chaotic into a pot of porridge. Of course, this is for the average person. There is also a saying that soldiers bear one, will bear a nest - a team, the leader is very important.
Confucius was famous for his many disciples, "disciples cover three thousand yan, and there are seventy people who are proficient in six arts." With so many people, how to manage it?
The student landscape is also quite complicated. The poor and the rich; confucius is dozens of years old, the younger ones are young; the brothers are in the same window, the fathers and sons read together... It's really hard to manage.
What to do?
Confucius first achieved self-righteousness. Learning to be a teacher, being a model. The teacher's prestige must come from himself— morality, learning, image, being a person, doing things. Confucius, even the Holy Ancestors and the Master of All Ages, are themselves righteous, there is no doubt. In daily life, "the son is gentle and strong, mighty but not fierce, respectful and peaceful" - the master's temperament, "the whole is complete, yin and yang are virtuous". In this way, the average boy, can he not be convinced?
Pipe heart. The human heart is separated from the belly. Confucius disciples are not immortals, and they often have "little nine nines" in their bellies. Confucius asked students to be gentlemen and not to be villains, because "gentlemen are frank" and "villains are long-related". A team, many gentlemen, the natural atmosphere is positive, a few people are mischievous, can not set off a big storm. The heart of everyone is controlled, and the teacher does not have to spend time balancing and mediating interpersonal relationships between students.
A bowl of water is flat. The eyes of the masses are shining. As a team leader, Confucius handled things fairly and justly, and everyone was clear in their hearts. Zaiyu has good talent, good mouth, and can be taught. But Confucius found that he slept lazily in the daytime, and was not polite - "Rotten wood cannot be carved, and the walls of dung and soil cannot be carved." "Decaying wood dung" became a detrimental idiom. This cruel sentence of Confucius has been passed down through the ages, and Zaiyu was passively "scolded and famous" by his teacher. Confucius also scolded Ran You. Ran You acted as a housekeeper for the Ji clan and collected wealth for the rich, and Confucius was annoyed: "Non-wu disciple!" The boy beats the drum and attacks it. The teacher was so angry that he had to clean the portal. Confucius also criticized Ran Qiu. Ran Qiu did not study well, and also made excuses in a dignified manner, "Not to say the way of the son, the strength is insufficient." Confucius was unceremonious: "Those who lack strength are abandoned in the middle of the road, and this woman paints." "Confucius said, where is your lack of strength? You're clearly standing still and don't want to move. No matter who is involved, as long as the behavior is misconduct, Confucius will criticize fiercely, not biased, not covered up, not conniving. That's fair.
A good heart. Confucius was very sympathetic. Confucius had great ambitions throughout his life; but the ideal was full and the reality was bone. Out of his class, out of his class, too good to be good, he has always been ambitious. The level of "ceo" he had never thought about; "shareholder", he had not thought about it. Later Sima Qian gave him the honor of "shijia", equivalent to "honorary shareholder". The teachers are not mixed well, and the students suffer with them. However, after Confucius became the Sikou of the State of Lu, he exercised the "right of distribution" twice, one time for the original thought, that is, the Zi Si, and he served as the teacher's general manager. Confucius set him an annual salary of "nine hundred millets". Zi Si felt too high. Is it high? Relevant information is lacking, but it can be corroborated from the side - "Mencius Liang Huiwang Shang" said: "A hundred acres of land, do not seize the time, several families can be hungry." How much grain can be produced in a hundred acres? "Now 1 husband and wife are holding 5 mouths to rule the field and 100 acres, and the annual harvest is 100 stones and a half stones, which is 150 stones for millet." (Book of Han, vol. 24, "Food And Goods") Zi Si's annual salary is 900 stones, and one person can support five or six households and dozens of people, which is not high. Nowadays, many people working in big cities, it is not easy to support themselves, and it is even more difficult to support their families, to support a family, there is no door, and everything can be compared with a reference. Zi Si felt "a lot of pressure". Confucius said, "No, to be with the Neighbors of the Township Party!" "Confucius means, don't be too much, you can't finish eating, then send some to the villagers." Confucius thought this because he knew that Zisi was born into poverty, and along the way, he had received help from many people and had to return human affection and "return courtesy." The teacher's compassion for the students is evident. But for another student, Gong Xihua, Confucius was very critical, why? Confucius sent Gong Xihua as an envoy to the State of Qi, and Gong Xihua's old classmate Ran begged to "tie the knot" to Gong Xihua, send some gifts (grain) to Gong Xihua's mother, and ask Confucius, Zi Yue: "With the kettle." "Please benefit. Yue: "With yu." "How much is a kettle?" Six buckets and four liters, ten buckets for one stone, not even one stone. Ran Qiu felt that he could not take it out and had no face. Confucius raised a little more, giving a "Yu", that is, sixteen buckets, more than one stone. Ran Qiu still felt embarrassed, so he took matters into his own hands and gave Gong Xihua's mother 800 buckets of grain. To use an analogy, Confucius's initial value standard was a box of dim sum; the later value standard was a box of dim sum and a box of tea; Ran Qiu finally sent a set of "tobacco, alcohol, sugar tea", and the "best" must be added in front of it.
The reason why Confucius did this was that he learned that Gong Xihua was on a business trip, "riding on a fat horse, dressed lightly", and his life was quite moist, and he was very particular about food, clothing, shelter and transportation, so his mother did not need extra help.
An account in your heart.
Confucius's life, turbulent and displaced, the days of "power and power" have not passed for a few days, but there are still many disciples who unswervingly follow, indicating that Confucius manages people by virtue of personality charm, academic charm, and ideological charm.
It boils down to two words:
culture.
The system manages people, and the culture warms the heart.
