Most of these substances are due to the precipitation of certain nutrients in the roots of sunken wood or rhododendron, resulting in the attachment of some fungi.
There are also some aquatic weed roots will also appear in this kind of thing, fish farming in the outdoor planting of water lily roots have also seen, let's call them all the fungal membranes for the time being.
If there is only a fungal membrane on the sunken wood or rhododendron root, this is still relatively easy to say, we can take them out to simply wipe and wash it, but sometimes even if they are wiped, as long as they are put into the water, the bacterial membrane on them will continue to grow, so we can wash it with salt water, so the effect is better, and it is generally not easy to grow.
Some aquarists may say that after using salt water to clean, if there are aquatic grasses in the tank, they are afraid of salt, we can brush it with clean water again, and occasionally a small amount of salt residue does not hinder things, we do not need to make a fuss.
In addition, if the sunken wood and rhododendron root are not large, we can also put them in the pot and cook them, so that the effect is more assured.
If we are playing with grass tanks, there are many aquatic plants grown in it, and some smaller ornamental fish are raised, we can use tool shrimp or tool snails to deal with.
The most common are black-shelled shrimp and apple snails.
Black shell shrimp is produced in all parts of China native shrimp rice, personality docile, adult shrimp body length is only two or three centimeters, so some aqua friends call them rice shrimp, although they also have claws, but there is no harm to fish, just to scrape off the algae on the leaf surface, their ability to remove algae is still relatively strong.
The key problem is that the black shell shrimp is very easy to obtain, even if the purchase price is relatively cheap, I just looked at it, ten dollars can buy nearly 200, even if there are casualties, there is no problem, in addition, the black shell shrimp can also eat the residual tea leftovers of the ornamental fish in the fish tank, which will have a certain help for purifying water quality and reducing organic matter.
However, because the personality of the black shell shrimp is too docile, lack of self-defense ability, and they also need regular shelling, reproductive ability is also super strong, so in their shelling period and newborn juvenile shrimp, it is easy to be attacked and eaten by some ornamental fish.
In addition, although they seem to be less picky about water temperature and water quality, it is best to overheat the water properly before they enter the tank, so that they can adapt to the environment and water quality faster.
The reason why many aquarists raise less and less black shell shrimp is related to the water quality and the large number of ornamental fish we raise.
In addition, we can also use the apple snail to deal with, apple snail is a kind of aquatic special snail cultivated by the German fish farm, can eat algae and food residues in the water body, fungal membrane things will also eat, they and the nature of the black shell shrimp is similar, but also the individual is small, there is no substantial harm to ornamental fish.
There are written displays that apple snails like weak alkaline and calcium-rich water environment, but when fish farming used to raise and breed fighting fish in large quantities, the water quality is neutral and acidic, and the apple snails are also bursting cylinders, so this thing is not so absolute, of course, the water quality is too acidic.
In the dense environment of various aquatic plants in the grass tank, we can use the black shell shrimp and apple snail to deal with sunken wood, rhododendron root and aquatic grass, bacteria on the wall of the tank and algae.
For example, our fish tank is mainly based on raising small ornamental fish, occasionally placing a sinking wood or planting a small amount of broad-leaved aquatic grass, at this time we can use the tool fish to do the appropriate treatment.
In a fish tank with small ornamental fish like this, we can use small tool fish such as black marys and elf fish, which can easily remove these algae and bacteria membranes, and the number of kept does not have to be too large.
And in the grass tank to put black shell shrimp and apple snail to remove algae and bacteria membrane, we need them to fight as a team, the number of feeding will be relatively increased, which may also lead to the risk of them bursting the tank, and then we also need to add a certain number of ornamental fish to remove them, it is also more troublesome, but in most cases, as long as the number of ornamental fish in the fish tank is stable, the probability of them wanting to burst the tank is not very large.
And we can avoid this situation by raising tool fish.
For medium and large fish tanks, due to the deep fish tank, the water body is large, assuming that the sunken wood in the fish tank has a fungal membrane or the edges and corners of the fish tank have brown algae in the early stage of opening the tank, we must first remove it will be quite troublesome, the operation is very unfavorable, at this time we can use the scavenger.
Why not other tools for fish?
Because small tool fish may be easily bitten by medium and large ornamental fish, the price is too high sail or beard, if bitten by other fish, we will also feel pity, and scavengers do not matter, one is because they have bad skin and thick flesh, and the price is quite cheap, so in the medium and large fish tank, scavengers are actually widely used by many fish lovers, unless we look at them is not pleasing to the eye.
Scavenger's ability to remove bacteria membrane and algae removal is still quite domineering, a one-meter fish tank to raise five or six centimeters of scavenger fish, up to two is completely enough, my one meter five fish tank, once raised 6, many aquarists will see, whether it is on the sunken wood, on the flower pot or on the wall of the fish tank, always by these 6 scavenger fish processed clean.
Only in the end, because the mini parrot fish are severely persecuted by tiger skin fish and small chowders, the scavengers will rush up and finally solve their lives, otherwise they will not do anything to the mini parrot fish.
Therefore, for the removal of debris such as fungal membranes, green algae, and brown algae that appear in medium and large fish tanks, I still prefer to use scavengers.
