Similar to the story of Pixar's "Dream Quest" a while ago, the little boy Mig went in and out of the undead world in the process of dream hunting, and finally gained ideals and understood family affection; this animated film "Mechanical Heart", released in France in February 2014, tells the story of a boy who survived by the heart of a clock, chased love with courage beyond life, and finally obtained love.
In a bizarre and bizarre tone that blends gothic dark elements with steampunk style, the film tells the story of a pregnant woman dragging her weak body up a high snowy mountain on one of the coldest days in the world, and finding the highly skilled witch Madeleine to deliver her. However, the day was so cold and cold that the child she gave birth to had a heart that was frozen.
In order to save the child, Madeleine exchanged a mechanical heart (clock heart) for him, and eventually raised the child after the child's mother abandoned him and left. She loved the child so much that she was willing to give everything for him.
Madeleine told the child that if he wanted to live well, there were three things he could not do in this life:
First, do not touch the hands of the clock (otherwise it will be controlled).
Second, don't be emotional (otherwise it's easy to do hurtful behavior).
Third, you can't fall in love (otherwise you will die of heart damage due to violent emotional fluctuations).
In Madeleine's view, the third point is particularly important. She knows that for men and women in the world, love is a thing that is difficult to avoid in a thousand turns, and it is not even necessary to learn without a teacher.
So, she trembled at Jack's growth and worried about his future.
However, as with all stories, the things that cannot be done, the roads that cannot be taken, are often the mines that the protagonist will definitely touch. So, Jack falls in love with the girl Acacia. He loved her so much that he was so emotional that he blinded one of his lover Joe's eyes. So Jack had to go into exile and traveled halfway through Europe to find his girl.
During his journey, Jack meets Jack the Ripper, who is not at the same time in reality, and George Mérière, the first person to direct a world cinema. This part of the chaotic plot makes the whole film style change again. Finally, after driving away Jack the Ripper, the film style shifts to a warm paper-cut effect, and the train spits out a circle of smoke, swaying under the stars, moon, and clouds, and swinging over the mountains and mountains, just like Jack's mood at this time: I cross the mountains, across the sea, just to find you.
This kind of unreal experience is only in dreams.
Eventually, Jack finds the Acacia he thinks about day and night, and coincidentally, Acacia also happens to love him.

However, things are not always so perfect. Joe reappears with intrigue and provocation, trying to break up Jack and Acacia. Women who are in love are always prone to believing other people's words, so Acacia believes Joe and leaves with Jack's life key.

The clock hearts that Madeleine had assembled with love were shattered by Acacia.
However, George mérière let Jack know that only Madeleine could save him. So, Jack went home. He's going to find his mother. However, it was not until he returned to his old but warm home on the cliff in the midst of the snow and wind that he learned that Madeleine had been taken to prison in order to get him out.
It turned out that when Jack had to run away, Madeleine's face was already full of holes under the surface of forced composure. At that moment, she was not an omnipotent witch, she was just a mother who worried about her child to the point of heartbreak.
So, although it was not the first time to go to prison, this time, because of her sad love for Jack, she finally failed to survive until the day of her release from prison and died in prison.
At the end of the story, Acacia comes to him with the key to Jack's mechanical heart. Originally, he had just stuck the key in and wound Jack's mechanical heart, and he was saved.
However, under the snow and wind, all Jack wanted was a kiss from Acacia. For him, if surviving meant giving up Acacia, giving up Acacia's love, he'd rather die.
So, as Madeleine admonished, Jack ended his life in a loving kiss.

Jack has a fragile mechanical heart that wants to love, but can't love unless it costs his life.
Although Madeleine can save Jack with a frozen heart and install a metal spine that can move and play music for Arthur with a broken spine, she can't restore herself to the ability to have children, so she can only drink wine brewed by the tears of men night and night, until Jack, the imperfect child appears in her world, she begins to feel that the world has color.

Joe, who bullied Jack in school and prevented Jack from falling in love with Akalya, is actually just a man who doesn't know how to express love and doesn't know how to chase love.
