Wang Yajun, male, Han ethnicity, born in December 1969, Anhui, joined the Communist Party of China in July 1991. Graduated from the Foreign Affairs College with a university degree and a double bachelor's degree.

In August 1991, he joined the China Foreign Affairs College, and in June 1993, he was appointed Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the China Foreign Affairs College and Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Research Center.

Since June 1995, he has successively served as Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Youth Work Division of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, First Secretary of the Embassy in Belgium, First Secretary of the Mission to the European Union, and Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General in Strasbourg, France;

In September 2004, he was appointed Director of the Office of Economic Diplomacy and Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

Since June 2005, he has served as Counsellor and Deputy Director General of the Department of Policy Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In March 2008, he was appointed Minister Counsellor of the Mission to the European Union, and in April 2010, he was appointed Minister to the European Union (at the level of the Bureau).

In March 2011, he was appointed Director General of the Policy Research Bureau of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee.

In June 2015, he was appointed Director General of the Department of Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In June 2016, he was appointed as the assistant director of the Central Liaison Department.

In January 2018, he was appointed deputy director of the Central Liaison Department.
