Ma Xiangbo's former residence is located in Kaijiang Middle Road, Sijing Town, which is a traditional courtyard-style building with five entrances and four courtyards and one corridor. This year, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Sijing Town People's Government, on the basis of repairing Ma Xiangbo's former residence, "restored" Ma Xiangbo's life experience with unique Jiangnan elements and diverse exhibition forms.

The exhibition hall of Ma Xiangbo's former residence takes the five advances as the main display space and the four courtyards as the supplementary display, and shows Ma Xiangbo's patriotic heart, the aspiration to strengthen the country and the trip to serve the country through four chapters of juvenile study, education to save the country, anti-Japanese national salvation, and writing achievements.

"The architecture of Ma Xiangbo's former residence has a characteristic, and its overall layout is very atmospheric, just like Mr. Ma Xiangbo's character." Lu Yaoxi, a staff member of Shanghai Sijing Construction and Development Co., Ltd., said.

Ma Xiangbo is the founder of Fudan University. At the end of 1902, he rented the remaining house of the old observatory in Xujiahui at that time and built a new type of university in the history of Chinese education, "Aurora College", which means the sunrise in the East and the future is immeasurable. In 1903, Aurora officially enrolled in the enrollment. Later, under the leadership of seven people, including You Ren, 130 Aurora students broke away from Aurora and supported Ma Xiangbo to create a new school.

On June 29, 1905, the Front Page of the Times published "Confessions of All Officers, Chinese Teachers, and All Students of the Former Aurora College" published by Ma Xiangbo, Xiong Xiling and others, clarifying the difference between Fudan and Aurora, and officially announcing the name of the new school as "Fudan Public School". "Fudan" contains the meaning of "Fu I Aurora", and also implies the meaning of "reviving China".

In October 1912, at the request of Cai Yuanpei, the education chief of the Provisional Government of Nanjing, Ma Xiangbo went north to serve as the acting president of Peking University. In 1914, Ma Xiangbo assisted Yingzhi in establishing the Furen Society in Xishan, Beijing, which was renamed "Furen University" in 1927. In 1952, Fu Jen University merged with Beijing Normal University. Ma Xiangbo founded Aurora College and Fudan University, assisted in the establishment of Fu Jen University, and served as the acting president of Peking University, making a pivotal contribution to Chinese education.
