China Sports News On the evening of October 15, Beijing time, the 2021-2022 Asian Figure Skating Open, a series of winter sports events held at the Capital Gymnasium, came to an end. In the finale of the men's single skating competition, China's Jin Boyang won the third place.

In the ice dance and pair skating competitions held earlier, the Chinese duo of Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu and Sui Wenjing/Han Cong won gold medals respectively, and in the women's singles competition, China's Zhu Yi ranked seventh.

The Open is the first international event to be hosted after the renovation of the Capital Gymnasium. The competition has four sub-events: men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance, and a total of 32 athletes from 9 countries and regions have signed up to participate.

According to the schedule, on October 14, the ice dance rhythm dance, women's singles short program, double skating short program, men's singles short program competition will be held; on the 15th, ice dance free dance, women's singles free skating, pair skating free skating, men's singles free skating competitions will be held. The results of the two days of competition are added together to determine the final ranking of the contestants.

There are only two Chinese players participating in the ice dance competition, namely Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu and Chen Hong/Sun Zhuoming. In the end, Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu won the championship with a total score of 186.58 points, and Chen Hong/Sun Zhuoming ranked second with a total score of 160.83 points. In the women's single skating competition, the Chinese team only had Zhu Yi and jin Hengxin in the team. Zhu Yi ranked 7th with a total score of 147.38 points, and Jin Hengxin ranked ninth. Japan's Mai Mihara (203.58 points) and Hanaori Sakamoto (202.28 points) won the first and second places, and the bronze medal belonged to Su Yi from Hong Kong, China.

Sui Wenjing/Han Cong successfully made their Olympic season debuts with a total score of 223.48 points, and Peng Cheng/Jin Yang won the silver medal with a total score of 196.68 points. The gold medal in men's singles was won by the runner-up of the ST World Championships and Japan's Yumasa Kenyama with a total score of 277.78 points, another Japanese player Jun Sato was runner-up with a total score of 256.16 points, and China's Jin Boyang was third with a total score of 224.09 points.
